I don't care about that poll, considering 50% of the votes for Pac are from Pinoy radicals who would vote for Pac regardless.

Even if he had a losing record as a fighter.

        IMO he did. Twice.
Compared to Floyds unbeaten run, it does have an impact.

oscar was heavily favored to win against pac even at 147. oscar had weighed in against forbes at 150. he had to go down 3 pounds, where pac had to gain 12lbs, having 1 fight at 135. oscar was destroyed. floyd fought oscar at 154, he was favored to win. he won by split decision.

Oscar was heavily favoured, but no one could have predicted he would be so poor, and throw hardly anything.
Oscar was much better against Floyd at his now natural weight.

The split decision was a joke.

          Serious statement.

Why are so many people stuck in the now?

          Because it's not Manny Pacquiao.

Roy Jones until Hopkins avenges & KO's him next year.

Or next year can be taken by whoever comes out of this welterweight mess between Cotto, Pacman, Floyd, & Moesly. Whoever comes out will be an all time great IMO. Because if Pacman comes out, thats Cotto he went through, then Floyd then probabably Shane. He would easily be one of the best ever which such a resume. Cotto has so much potential too to be one of the greatest welterweights ever if he KO's Pacman, then beats Floyd & Shane in the rematch and destroys Marga-cheato in a rematch. Floyd would cement his legacy & surprise us all pretty much if Cotto won & he went out beating Cotto & Shane. Shane would be one of the greatest fighters in the last 15-20 years because he already has great accomplishments, but taking out Cotto, Pacman, or Floyd as the undisputed champ would be crazy. i'M SO PUMPED FOR THIS WW DIVISION IN THE NEXT YEAR!!! Hopefully Cotto can KO Pacman and fight Shane before Floyd & then Floyd would have to fight the winner to even be considered an ATG. Running away from a oppurtunity like that would be the biggest mistake in boxing history!!! Big money maker!

i don't think the marquez fights hurt manny's legacy at all. if anything else, his stock has risen because of those fights. marquez wasn't some average fighter after all. he ko'd diaz and casamayor, who where never stopped in their career, in his first 2 fights at lightweight, before losing to floyd.

if i was to score the marquez fights, i gave the first to manny and the second to marquez. first fight, i thought pac won. second fight was a lot harder to score, but i ended up giving it to marquez. still, there WAS NO ROBBERY in those fights. people act if it was like whitaker-chavez, which is not. but marquez didn't win cause he kept getting kd. if he stayed on his feet, he would have won both fights. but HE DIDN'T.

even if you diminish some of pac's win, its still better than floyds. the only thing floyd has over pac is his natural fighting ability, which he refuses to use to fight people in his weight class. just because floyd "would most likely win against fighter X", doesnt prove much. he still has to fight them.

pacquiao on the other hand, has always been labeled as a limited fighter. yet, he was able to improve his game and was able to beat at the very least "good" fighters a few weight classes above featherweight-super featherweight, the weight class in which campaigned in that made him an elite fighter.

no matter how you slice it, 4 linear titles is something special. being the first to do it in the history of boxing, even in an era where there are 16 weight classes (last time i checked) it takes someone special to do it. i don't know how that could be discredited. he is currently gunning for his 7th weight title. unheard of, even if you consider the 2lb catch.

regarding the floyd's "0", i think it doesn't help him at all legacy wise. if he fought fighters who were a threat to him in the higher weight class (which he didn't), its a different story.

if having no losses is the basis for greatness, then how come marciano isn't considered the greatest heavyweight?

lastly: this may come to a shock, but Pacquiao isn't American. yet, he was able to crossover and gain fans not only in the US but all around the world. i still consider boxing as an AMERICAN SPORT. its harder for him cause he was never groomed to be a boxer, and had to take on a harder road than Floyd to be where he is. if he wasn't given the opportunity to fight ledwaba, he could have never proven how good he could have become.

pacquiao's career is currently under a microscope cause he is the hottest fighter right now. therefore, he can easily be discredited. trust me, unless floyd does something great at welterweight, pacquiao will always be ranked higher than floyd, even if he was to lose against cotto.

                    that is all.

that maybe true, but pacquiao makes a hell of a case.
