Pavlik is very lucky he didn't face Abraham.

Abraham's 2 biggest wins are against Pavlik left overs Taylor and Miranda (I know Abraham beat Miranda first, but the fight was competitive while Pavlik totally destroyed Miranda). It's also possible that Taylor was shot in that last fight and just lost 3 of his last 4 (2 by ko). Even though Hopkins totally outclassed Pavlik, no one on Abraham's record is half as good as B-Hop. Pavlik is a straight shooter, while Abraham throws really wide looping punches leaving himself open. Until I see how Abraham does in the tournament, I say Pavlik wins.
If Pavlik ruined Taylor like you claim he did, then why was the second fight so close?

At first thought it seems like you are clearly right Bully, and if you want to work the triangle theory I guess you can make a good argument. Still, lets look at the facts they both in reality have mediocre skill, both are slow, 1 dimensional, very good power, and both have good chins. I think they both have the power to ko each other in an entertaining brawl, so its a 50/50 for me.

Yeah, the fight was close but Taylor fought a lot more cautious and more in spurts which caused some trouble for Pavlik. I wouldn't say Taylor was ruined, but the those back to back losses to the same guy definitely took something away from him mentally if not physically. His win over the even more shot (and overrated) Lacy didn't prove much. And if he wasn't ruined, that Froch knockout took even more out of him.

It would have been a good fight. I'm not so sure that Abraham would "son" him. A tip top Pavlik would give Abraham some problems and I could see Pavlik winning a UD do to Abraham's inactivity.

luckily pavlik can't counterpunch one bit so he wouldn't be able to hit him

which is why they stalled for so long and the fight never happened. pavlik is a potential cash cow, he'll only fight suitable fights.

                Disagree.

I always said I would pick Pavlik to beat AA and I still would. He would outwork AA to a decision IMO.

The thing is Abe is the better boxer, and you would think Pavlik would respect his power. I do not see stalking Abraham as the way of beating him.

abraham starts too slow... maybe pavlik's punches splits AA's guard. we won't know till they fight.

Damn those lefts on Gevor and Ayala were brutal. Both guys fell down in a heap and Gevor he went bobblehead style.

Yeah I agree AA beats Pavlik. AA would give those first rounds away just by getting outworked, but once AA has a feel for him I think he lands quite a bit. AA is pretty accurate and I don't see Pavlik really landing much clean beause he really can't counter punch well. I believe in King Arthur because of his defense. He either blocks or partially blocks most of the punches to his head and then going to the body most guys either low blow him or come close.
