it'd be funny fortuitous if the fight is signed for 175

But Fat Dave doesn't make weight so it's his unified cruiser belts on the line rather than Top Soviet Bivol's 175 championship

Top Soviet Bivol mops Fat Dave and gets cruiser experience by beating the unified belt holder

This is the scenario where I could see Top Soviet Bivol fighting Fat Dave and Buff Guy Jai under the span of one year

so 210 is a reasonable conclusion for his fit walking weight
Jai probably walks heavy as well, thinking about it... Mind you, he is 6"2 and Benavidez is 6"0. He is of Samoan heritage as well, those people put on weight easily

I was surprised to learn that these cruisers are 210 or under

modern heavies are indeed 'super heavies' and far bigger or fatter than the classic heavies

Nah, that's what I thought as well - his wikipedia stated he is 6"2, but BoxRec and Tale of the Tapes say he is 6"0/184cm, which I think is deemed more accurate to his height.

Not every fight needs a stoppage - it varies on the toughness and durability of your opponent. Despite no stoppage, I thought he and his team came up with a very strategic game plan against a tough foe; they showed me there is more to it. It's about being smart and not going all out chasing the K.O like in his previous fights.
what rounds? Glanton was buzzed at best in round 12... Literally one occasion in the whole fight! Chris Billam Smith dealt with Glanton by decision better than Opetia did. Meanwhile Opetia was nearly knocked out by Breidis, and hurt badly by Nyika and Cinkara. If those guys can hurt him imagine what Benavidez would do to him. Don't get me wrong Opetia is an extremely hard puncher but he is very hittable

Having met Fat Dave multiple times in the flesh I'm inclined to think he's 6 ft

he's massive on camera but lean offline

his real life frame isn't physically imposing at all

you'd see him and only think this guy is tall for a Mexican

I think it would be nip and tuck, Benavidez still had to stand there and take a couple of zurdos good shots in order to get in position to hit him, he sure as hell couldn’t do that vs Jai

                      closest thing to a 50 50 fight

Buff Guy Jai's back foot boxing isn't Top Soviet Bivol nor Cossack Oleksandr, but lesser fighters than Jai have made Fat Dave work hard using their movement alone

Buff Guy Jai can properly stick & move
