Comments Thread For: Michael Conlan stunned by Kevin Walsh in Belfast

The top-flight career of Michael Conlan is surely over after a 10-round split points loss to the unheralded Kevin Walsh on Friday at the SSE Arena in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

I'm really not sure "top flight" are the right words.

Micheal Conlan had so much hype behind him when he turned pro after the double bird stuff, and boy he really didn't live up to it at all.

      Time to retire, surely.

Think RGBA's Albert "Chop Chop" Gonzalez should take a step up, and wonder if Kevin Walsh will be a solid opponent.

            Haven't seen the fight though

Walsh is a 33 yr old club fighter who hasnt fought outside of new england and has 0 amateur experience. He should of been blown out of the water by conlan.

The fight ****** neither looked impressive at all

Conlan just never translated very well to the pro game. Technically a good fighter but just didn’t have the power or the physical strength in there to make opponents respect him at the higher level. Was unlucky against Leigh wood in that fight but again woods power and physical strength just got to conlan in the end. And now he’s older and he’s suffered some heavy losses it’s not surprising he’s just gone more down hill. Right choice to retire tbh he could of done that after the stoppage loss to Jordan gill because that fight showed he had just hit his ceiling as a pro

He's been getting stunned since Nicotine stunned him in the Olympics.
