Martinez has a hybrid style, with stand up Euro and Latino macho mixed; like Carlos Monzone and Victor Galindez. He's not as elegant in style as Carlos and not as bullish as Victor, but still a good example of the Argentine boxer puncher. Williams will not have it all his way with this guy, especially at 154. It might be easier at 160, but don't sell Martinez short. He is stepping up to bat, I'll watch this better than Foch anyday.Comment

I guess you didn't take the time to read the post of where I took the time to expose your idiotic ass. Not only is Williams not afraid of this guy, it is Martinez talking like he doesn't want the fight. He is saying he has to be financially compensated for the fight to happen at MW so that when the fight doesn't happen, he can make it look like he was really serious about fighting Williams. And I'm not gonna make some ****** bet like that. And besides, Dzinziruk is a tougher fight any way I think. Now you have a little bit of an argument there. But Paul would've fought the guy if he hadn't have signed to fight Pavlik. The fight was scheduled to happen if the Pavlik match up didn't happen.Comment

Co-sign.... All hype. His best fight was a lost against Margarito.Martinez is overrated by a lot of people. I don't see what's so special about him. His loss to Margarito is legit whether people want to admit it or not. And even though he got robbed of his KO win over Cintron, he should've never let the guy go the full twelve rounds after hitting him with that punch. He hot dogged around and let Cintron off the hook. Compare that with the way Margarito made Cintron cry in the first fight and KO him with a body shot in the second, and Martinez is a very hyped up fighter. The most notable win on his resume is Bunema, and that dude ******.Comment

Instead of everyone bitching about how overrated Williams or Martinez. How about we let these two answer all the questions in the ring. I like this fight for both men. It's a good fight between two of the top 154lbers in the world and while it's not going to garner the attention that both men want, the winner will bring themselves some much needed/deserved respect.Comment

This is simple, the only guy available and willing is Martinez. A title at 154 is what Williams needs to start running the show. A ight at MW with Martinez doesnt make sense, because tehre will be nothing at stake.I guess you didn't take the time to read the post of where I took the time to expose your idiotic ass. Your little thoeries dont work here, if he doesnt fight the guy, he ducked him, like he did Carlos for a 3 fight.
Oh!!, and since according to you bitches Williams can make anything from 147 to 160, 154 should not be a problem!!!Comment

Just like I was saying Martinez needs to step up that opposition and get a notable win not loss. This would be a very interesting fight.Williams would most likely do Martinez like Margarito did him.Comment

And what makes you think Williams is gonna duck him in the first place when the guy is practically the front runner to land the fight? And Paul ducked Carlos Quintana. Puuuuulease. So I guess Lennox Lewis ducked Oliver McCall. You Ricans use Quintana to keep Williams away from Cotto like the Floyd fans use Williams to keep Floyd from fighting top Welterweights. I know the deal with your double standards using fan boy ****.This is simple, the only guy available and willing is Martinez. A title at 154 is what Williams needs to start running the show. A ight at MW with Martinez doesnt make sense, because tehre will be nothing at stake.

In the end Williams has to face somebody of some quality, he has been on the shelf for too long cause of the postponements. Unless Sergiy or Martinez steps its up. Williams was training for a 160 so trying to lose that muscle weight might be a problem. There is 5 weeks of trainning remaining, hope the reach a deal with somebody soonComment

Why is anyone mentioning the Margarito-Martinez fight from 9 years ago?
Can anyone explain to me what possible significance and similarity that fight has to what a current Martinez or Margarito look like in the ring? Didn't think so... kthanks.Comment
