Staph infections are ****in destructive.. My friend had a severe one and almost lost his right hand.. it took 6 months to fully heal.. I guess pavlik had a really bad one.

I mean, what else can you do? Some people don't recoup from a staph infection for months depending how infected it is. I highly doubt Pavlik is scared to fight Williams, he actually wanted a fight with him prior but both camps couldn't agree on money.

its time for williams to look elsewhere i think, he hasnt fought in god knows how long, and theres plenty out there for him. Grab mosely for the december date, he'd probably take it

Really wanted to see this fight and how paul fared agianst Pavlik. I don't think he should wait for Pavlik though. He needs to fight and fight someone good.

According to the Youngstown Vindicator, WBC/WBO middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik is unable to move forward with his December 5 clash with Paul Williams. The fight was previously scheduled for October, and postponed due to a staph infection suffered by Pavlik and then set for the December date. This is obviously very serious...I hope he doesn't have career-ending permanent damage to his hand.

Please people, don't jump to conclusions about him ducking Williams. He's not.
