If you do one belt per weight class, the champ MUST defend 4* a year

Like the title WILL be defended on:

    January

    April

    July

    October

    And there's no excuses.

If you are injured and can't defend the title on the scheduled date, then #2 and 3 fight for the vacant belt and you get first dibs when you recover.

There's no other way it works, if you get rid of all the other belts then one man CANNOT be allowed to hold a division hostage for 6-18 months at a time.

You are active or **** off.

How will it affect the lower weight fighters with a 20lb+ cut they'll be weight cutting throughout the year, your favorite champs suddenly can't be champ anymore.

This is Nash out from the BoxingScene Hall of Fame. You've heard of me. Nash Rules would also reflect this. As you all know, Nash Rules has also been pushing for more fights and less sparring. All these 8-12 weeks training camps, for what? You know how to fight. It's like taking an exam, no need to revise, you just turn up and do it. Nash would make training camps max 1 week. That's just to go over tactics with the coach for the opponent, and for the vibes. The overall promotion for a fight would be 4 weeks. This is much better than watching a press conference of a fight happening in 12 weeks.

Less sparring also gives fighters extended breaks from being punched in the head. Nash's theory is that this is where most of the damage is done. Nash Rules would also change the way people make weight. No more ridiculous cutting. You fight in the division you actually belong in. Nash out - His Majesty

I don't agree with the one belt per divisions, well? One global title belt. The last time when there was one global world title per division, as you have pointed out? Fighters were way more active than they are in today's modern game, fighters were compiling over a course of their careers hundreds of fights.

That is why this notion that one title per divisions, will greatly improve the sports is nonsense 'having more meaningful fights, will improve the sport. Fights which involve high jeopardy, and glory'.

Note: TKO boxing, or ZUFFA Boxing, whatever it is called? Has just staged its first ever boxing event, and the significance of all the fights was at a level of nothing 'They meant nothing, to the boxing community'.

The only significance they had was to the fighters competing 'are they going to win, or lose. Are their families going to celebrate or not. Blah blah, completely useless boxing event in terms of current significance. And those are just the facts';.

But your idea of forcing fighters to defend on specific dates, throughout the competitive year no matter what, is 'Good'. And if they struggle to defend on those specific dates, regardless of being injured or dealing with some sort of situation outside the ring. Then so what. The fighters will be stripped of their Titles'.

This would build drama, and involve high jeopardy 'Fights will have real significance, beyond them just being a combat sports event'.

In my opinion, It will be difficult for today's modern day fighters to compete under that type of environment 'so although it is a solid idea from you, the likely-hood of it happening is not very high'.

There would most likely be many complaints from fighters, that the system is unethical 'especially if they are genuinely injured or enduring a serious situation outside the boxing ring'.

That is why truly old school fighters, and boxing eras need appreciating much more 'they where more active, and the terrain was more competitive. Every single fight meant something; they were literally fighting to survive. You only have to watch the movie Cinderella Man: 2005, to understand the competitive environment which I am talking about'.

To conclude: I don't think modern day fighters, would be down for that type of life 'No disrespect, but this perception if mine is backed up by how modern day fighters behave'.

The reality is? Modern day boxing, in terms of competition 'Is actually at its absolute peak during the amateur ranks, I have always stated this. That is why at times Amateur fighters can compile records if 100's of fights. That is why the Olympic Gold Medal in terms of prestige, it is pound for pound the biggest individual title in boxing. Outside of the Undisputed Professional title'.

Oscar De La Hoya even referred to this himself 'he has continually stated, that his most important, and best title he ever won was the 1992 Olympic title'.

When modern day fighters enter into the professional ranks, I am starting to believe that most of them in certain areas of their game go backwards 'This could be work ethic, or individual competitiveness'.

And this is precisely why this one title belt per divisions, may not work out so great 'Modern day fighters, may not have the appetite to make it work' etc.

No! we need more belts and less defenses, boxing is tiring and hard so I want the champions to be comfy wumfy before defenses. No weigh ins either because its body shaming.

            Nope.

Boxing is going to the UFC model. How it works over there is how its gonna work over here once Turki finishes owning the sport. At least stateside.

Like it or not, it's how its gonna be.

4 times is not reasonable but having an 8 man touranement every year certainly is. the 8 best as determined in the fairest manner would fight every 4 months. the winner and loser would automatically qualify for the next tournament and get more money etc...

3 times a year or fight every 4 months would drastically improve the sport

                  more fights get made

less missed fights that never happen
