Two timing Karen is the risk Boot's is familiar with...

"The pressure to make the fight is more on Jaron Ennis,” Malignaggi said.

How the hell is it on Ennis to force Vergil's promoter to make the fight?

Paulie could be generalizing when he says it's on Jaron Ennis. He just means, it is on Ennis promoter/team to work with Oscar and team to make it happen. Though I honestly don't think that would work. In my eyes and probably their eyes, Ennis is or can become a greater star than Ortiz. So it's more like, why are we going to come after you when we're the current bigger name and on our way to bigger and better things? Call it ego, but it is what it is. Your usual boxing politics BS.

It is because Ennis is almost 30 and he has never fought a top quality fighter. Boots fans know this but they ignore it and just say "skillwise, Ennis beats everybody". And it may be true. But as far as people discussing which fighter is more likely to duck, Boots has a history of facing no hopers.

Boots needs to go on social media or give an interview right now saying that he only wants Ortiz, he is ready and that it isn't about the money. It is about showing people that he is the best and that he wants the best. Just like Ortiz has done and then he actually got into the ring and showed it. Ennis showing up to the Lubin fight was great. But total silence from him now that Ortiz and his manager have said they want it.....Ennis looks bad as always. Ennis needs to publically call on Hearn and his management to make the fight.

Boots is literally a punchline at this point. His few fanboys will defend him at every turn, but to the majority of boxing fans, he is the definition of a hypejob. Boxing NEEDS Ennis to be the new star his fanboys say he is. He needs to go get some big fights done and be that guy.

Said it before. Either Ennis is dumb and just does exactly whatever he is told. Or he has glaring weaknesses and his team protects him to the point of making him a joke. I am hoping this time Ennis says F you all and makes the fight, 60/40, 55/45, whatever. The effect of him KO'ing Ortiz would elevate him exponentially.

But if Hearn and Boot's team, at this point in Boot's career having fought no one.....are going to price Boots out as an excuse, then they have to be worried about Boots getting caught and the gravy train ending. There is no other explanation.

Yeah, I didn't even think of Ennis age. He's going to turn into the next Crawford in that he might find his fame later in his career when it's too late. Granted, Crawford had Errol as a solid rival that stood against him for a couple years before the fight actually became reality. Again, a tad later in Crawford's career than someone who wants to be a star for awhile, though he won and looks great now in many folks eyes. Granted, Crawford had some better wins under his belt already prior to Errol than Ennis has. Ennis needs names before his name fizzles out.

They always force people to become cynical so...

I wonder if the real roadblock is that both are associated with SNAC and neither wants to give that up.

'Boots' has more tools in the box. There are titles at middleweight for him. It's not an appealing division at the moment though. Perhaps he can fight Canelo, even though they sparred before.

It wouldn't be wise to put the cart before the horse, but you imagine he could fight at light heavyweight. Perhaps Ennis is great, not sure. Could he beat Bivol or Beterbiev, or is that too wild.

I don't mention Benavidez because it looks like he's moving to cruiserweight, at least for one fight.
No he just wants the best deal for his fighter. The facts are Ortiz accepted the fight in Saudi, Boots did not. Those are facts. So because of Boots, Ortiz didn't get the Saudi payday he could have (yes he still fought but likely offer for Madrimov would have been less than the bigger Boots fight) and the fans did not get Boots vs Ortiz because of Boots and Eddie. Soon as they faced off in the ring it was obvious without Saudi there will be split issues. Although 60-40 De La Hoya mentioned, Hearn said 55-45 was offered they should have took that
