  • Ricky is my man and all but PBF would knock him out in 3 in the rematch.

    • Don't think this will be happening, I kind of want to see Hatton should fight Marquez.

        • if he would have beat Pacquiao. Then I would have said this fight made all kind of sense...But now?

          why?

Hatton should try and fight Khan or Marquez and get alittle buzz back.
then maybe a fight with the current p4p#2 fighter in the world would be justified! lol

          • Now wouldn't this be something. Floyd Jr has been running his mouth about Pacman feasting on his leftovers. Well, Floyd, didn't you 'feast' on a past victim of Pacman's named Marquez? And then fight Hatton again? No way, this will not happen. As much as I hate Floyd, he's gotta realize there is no point. Hopefully Floyd fights Mosley but we all know that aint gonna happen (Mosley should have never said he would take short money to fight Pacman because Floyd will want the same thing and that won't happen)....

The one thing Mayweather did differently to Dirrell was throw more, but they were all pitty patty backfoot punches EXCEPT the ones after the ref would break them up unnecessarily. The ref was the only reason Mayweather got any big punches in.
Just so I can be sure... Are you claiming that Hatton does not hold? Ok, if he wasn't holding, then how did Cortez stop him from imposing his style. In what way? By breaking them up? From holding?

What, in your words, is his style?

Lol...if you have watched all of Floyd's catalog, you would know he doesn't regularly hold on a repetitive basis. If he's pressured inside, maybe a bit. Whereas, if you look at Hatton's catalog, its chock full of hugs. I mean 5374565 more hugs than Dirrell has ever dreamed of. But back to the fight you are fixating on... Mayweather was ADAPTING to Hatton's holding by holding back. Point blank

I invite you to look with unbiased eyes as well, sir.

              • Hatton needs to retire.

Mayweather would destroy anything Hatton had left.

lol, why the fcuk would ricky hatton want more $ when he lives in england! its all about the £ baby! but anyway, hatton dont need more coin, he got enough to last him a lifetime and more. On the subject tho there is no doubt that hatton didnt get the chance to impose his style coz cortez is corrupt as fcuk, but it probably wont make much difference anyway! but i tell u what, this is exactly what mayweather will be lookin for, only reason he came out of retirement was for another payday of hatton because its minimum risk for maximum pay as far as mayweather is concerned. i remember the thread that said he was prepared to rematch in england. but the problem is this wont be competitive. hatton isnt what he used to be and floyd is still awesome. but fair play to hatton for wanting to try again against sum1 that has already KO'd him!

                    • Whilst Hatton bugs me to do death now to class him as a bum as pleny do here is way harsh.

Overly protected by Warren his resume still stands on it's own merits.

He defeated good British fighters (Rowland, Magee, Thaxton etc), close to world class performers in Tackie, Phillips and obviously a still world class if past his best Tszyu.

Collazo, Urango, Castillio (shot) were all decent fighters.

Good matchmaking gets you so far but "bums" don't defeat the fighters above.

At his peak he was a ferocious pressure fighter with heart and great speed and angles.
