One thing Matias shoudn't have said was that he was going to bring out the little girl in Smith. He had to eat those words.

Smith is obviously a lot more dangerous to Hitchens than Matias, who only has one strategy. The same goes for Pitbull Cruz, but Cruz comes in with a high guard and keeps his chin tucked. Doesn't hurt that he's also two feet tall.

Smith is more skilled than Matias and has much better feet, but he still gets drawn into fire fights needlessly. It worked against the very limited Matias. I doubt it works against Gary Antuan Russell Pit Bull or any of the younger undefeated prospects who can punch.

I enjoy watching boxing. I don't enjoy the corruption involved or the trolls who swear they actually understand the sport.

A simpleton like you could never anger me. I live in New York and deal with weirdo types like you several times a week. People like you are amusing, nothing more.

Telling another man that you have waist-length hair is a bit weird. Please don't share anymore intimate details -- I'm about to enjoy lunch.

Yeah, Dalton is open for too many shots. Gets hit too clean. He's a good fighter, but not great. I wasn't sure his power was real, but this fight showed me it is.

Mathias is very limited. I am not really surprised.

                Way too much holding
                Too many warnings
                Not enough pts taken away

Smith boxed in a measured way for the first two rounds and landed his right consistently while moving. Gaining confidence, he sat down on his punches for the rest of the fight. That extra bit of leverage helped him KO Matias. Great win for the lad!

I'm sure they didn't mention it on comms.

Said it a lot now but just a wild bit of comms all night. Called the fight they expected to see instead of what was happening. It was ******.

And most of us Brits grew up Sky Sports.
Yes, this (and others) announcing crew does this every fight just about. Barker has an idea how he needs to frame the fight for the promoters favorite and then calls it that way no matter what actually happens. Then Frampton gives his card and it reflects the same thing. Cosell started it, Lampley Merchant , Mauro, Kellerman, Mannix and others continued the formula. I hate it too. Thats why I like Mora or the Nerd the most. And the black guy with the Nerd on the Canadian fights, cant remember those guys names (sheesh) but he's the best. It doesnt seem like they are pure shills.
Barker and his crew frame a fight with a pre thought out toolset of dialogue to sway your opinion. Such as, he's getting tired. He's landing those now but he cant keep up the pace. These shots are having no effect. Those all missed. He's landing here and there but he's just in survival mode. He doesnt want it as bad. He's walking him down but it's not effective aggression. His 5 shots didnt have the same effect as that one shot. You can see him wilting. He doesnt seem to have a plan, etc, etc. I hear a new one each week.
And of course they can simply tell a story about the A-sides sister while ignoring each and every clean shot thrown by the B-side when their guy is getting shellacked. And at the end of the round they say the A-side squeaked it out and B-side is competitive but hasnt won a round. That's what Barker seems to do a lot. And the replay only shows that 1 shot the A-side landed. Yeah I'd rather not hear announcers at all actually.
