Terence ?Bud? Crawford went out on the ultimate high note. Having already retired on top as the lineal and unified 168lbs champion and perennial pound-for-king, the 38-year-old switch hitter from Omaha, Nebraska, racked up another honor on his way out the door.

Fighter of the Year based on just one fight? It was a big win but still…

inoue beat the 2nd, 3rd, and 5th ring ranked fighters in his division...after already beating the #1 guy in 2023. bam beat the #1 and #4 ring ranked fighters. canelo was #1 but he had artificially extended his stay at the top by ducking benavidez who beats him easily and he knew it. canelo hadnt fought a top guy for 4 years when crawford fought him. a good win for sure but a bit of smoke and mirrors, i would pick guys who are fighting multiple top contenders with different styles as opposed to 1 good fading fighter no matter the weight jump

Let's give Bud a 12 mark for his Canelo victory. Quite generous I would say. (assumes a prime Canelo but also takes into account the 2 weight class jump.)

Now let's give Inoue some conservative scores.
        Korean fella 1
        Cardonas 5
        Ahkmadaliev 6
        Picasso 3

By my book this gives Inoue a 15 mark for the year.

I wonder if Crawford is the fighter of the year in Japan?

Use TBRB, the Ring is nothing more than a promotional tool of the Saudi government. Their rankings have been compromised since Oscar bought it, but now that a despotic government that executes journalists AND promotes fights owns it there's absolutely no reason other than nostalgia to give their rankings any attention.

By TBRB Bam beat the #1 and the #2 while Inoue beat the #5, #1, and then the new #5.

Will the Crawford glazing ever stop ? One victory over a diminished foe apparently merits atg status. Must've been a atg Crawford beat or it makes no sense.

That one Canelo win was good but is so inflated. Do we really believe that Bud can claim he’s the best of all time and ride off in the sunset after that?

Fact is, Canelo was the cash name. But talent wise he hasnt done anything in the last 5 years. A faded version of what he used to be. On game day, surprisingly Bud was also bigger and longer than Canelo. Time to wake up to reality.

Yeah, but history is going remember Bud beating one of the greats and not that he was slowing down or fatigued.

He only fought 1 fight, against a faded Canelo, and it wasn't exactly an emphatic win, I respectfully disagree.
