it would be karma for ringing up wilder out of the blue for this fight, i hope it happens but it wont, i dont think there is even a lucky punch chance
Usyk is finished and just cashing out now

he showed no urge for a Joseph fight

    then Usyk outright ducked Fabio

Deontay-Usyk is the type of match that should be a last fight before retiring think Berto-Floyd

He is broken. He doesn’t have any fight left him anymore. It’s so sad that he would subject himself to this type of fight. He needs to retire and stay permanently retired.

He shouldn’t disgrace his legacy no more than he already has
Deontay is the ultimate puncher's chance guy

if he somehow lands that one big shot that knocks out Usyk

that right will singlehandedly put Deontay back on top of heavyweight boxing lol

he can then rematch Usyk for a super payday and face Buff Guy BBC Josh

I believe in fairy tales too but just not this one. The scenario you just layed out is only a fantasy. It will never happen. Besides, all of Wilder's snap, pop and steam on his punches are gone forever now.

At age 40; Deontay Wilder should just consider settling down, get married, start a new family and enjoy the rest of his life outside of boxing. He has grossed at least $40-50 mil dollars in his career. He doesn't need to fight anymore.

oh you mean tricking people by beating a big name who in all honesty was never very good in his prime but is absolutely terrible at the moment. legacy padding i guess you could call that.

Fans like to see slaughters like Dempsey-Willard, Duran vs Moore, Hagler vs Hearns, Lennox vs Tyson, and Usyk vs Wilder will be the slaughter of all slaughters, unless Wilder tanks first.

rather see Usyk face Fabio who's a better slugger at this point than cherry Deontay

Wilder has not been able to pull the trigger since the Fury trilogy. And if he's not throwing haymakers with reckless abandon he's not a threat to anybody, he's just a punching bag on two legs.

As unlikely as it would be, I could imagine Wilder from 8 years ago clipping Usyk. I'd bet against it, but it wouldn't be a massive shock to me either.

But now? I just can't see it. Not the Wilder we saw against Parker and Zhang.

My thoughts the same here. Wilder has been a shell of himself since his Fury trilogy. He ALMOST surprised us as if he was fine and back to his ways vs Robert Helenius but that was just 1rd and not enough to truly gauge how much was taken out of Wilder. Vs Parker he looked lifeless as if he just didn't want to be in there. There was zero of the Wilder we knew facing Parker, already looking like a shop worn, waaaay past his best fighter. Yet he had just KO'd Helenius in 1 prior... Then vs Zhang, it was his Parker performance all over again, except against a big aggressive puncher in Zhang. No way was Wilder going to hide from Zhang for all rds before something eventually got him.

Wilder's last fight, looked terrible again in getting a win that wasn't impressive. Now on to Usyk? The writing is all over the wall why Usyk wants Wilder now, but I don't blame him. An easy win vs a former dominant American heavyweight and probably the last "good" one we've had in awhile. It also means Usyk faced the 3 best that were meant to face each other and got Ws on all of them. Just another way to kind of **** on this heavyweight generation further and look like a stud while he's at it.

The shock would be there for sure if Wilder did somehow land a miracle punch on Usyk, but I just don't see it now. Usyk is too smart for anything Wilder has and all Wilder really has is a big right hand. I'd argue that AJ's pop in the right is very similar and he took some decent ones from AJ and stayed up. I got Usyk easily winning a UD or even stopping Wilder.

It's a total mismatch on paper. A former Olympian vs someone who didn't start boxing until he was 20, good footwork vs bad footwork, a precise and crisp puncher vs someone who swings for the fences, and an intelligent fighter vs someone who has slightly above average ring IQ. Wilder has lost 4 of his last 6 fights and definitely does not deserve a Championship fight. However, Usyk is the KING so he has a right to choose his next opponent.

Usyk SHOULD fight Wardley or Parker.
