It depends how bad he looks. I don't think a bad night will make him hang'em up. He'll likely continue fighting to pay the bills.

There are a ****load of fights left for cotto is he loses. He is only 28 years old. Even if he gets KO'd, he can still have a big fight in the summer with a Margarito rematch and Mosley/Berto Winner at the end of next year.

There are so other options for him such as a Puerto Rican Showdown with Kermit Cintron which will be pretty big if held before the puerto rican parade in New York.

Alfredo Angulo fight will be pretty good in Two years at 154 if Cotto decides to go up. Same with a James Kirkland fight (two fights that aren't alot bigger than cotto but will make for good fights)

Also, even if doesn't move up, someone from 140 will emerge as a big name opponent. Ortiz vs Cotto, Cotto vs Khan, and Cotto vs Peterson in a few years will all be big time fights.

Last, lets not forget Saul Alvarez will be ready to step up also. He has a huge Mexican following , and Mexico vs Puerto Rico has always produced great matchups.

Point is, Cotto has alot of good fights and big money fights (depending on how things develop). The TS and people like him don't know **** about boxing I this line of thinking is ****ing up the sport.

nah I don't believe he would be done.

I BEEN saying that Mayweather might fight Cotto first if Cotto loses to Pac. May and Pac have been playing this game of defeating each others' previous opponents to make their respective legacies look less.

May fought DLH and Hatton. Then Pac came and fought them too, striving to beat them better, even though they were lesser versions at that point.

Then May came back, and fought JMM, and defeated HIM better, although JMM was lesser at that point.

I see the same pattern holding for Cotto if Pac beats him. May will fight Cotto, especially if Cotto/Pac is a close barn burner match, just to show he can beat Cotto better and raise hype for the Mayweather-Pac extravaganza that will eventually happen.

And even if Cotto loses to both Pac, and May... He still has the Margarito rematch.

So no, he's not done, either way.
