ezzard charles had more than 2 losses and that didn't stop him from becoming of the best of all times.

ray robinson had 20 something losses, that didn't stop him from becoming the best p4p boxer of all times.

ali had 5 losses, that didn't stop him from becoming the best HW of all times.

    having losses means ****.
    Tell that to Mayweather Jr.

Onto the topic, if Cotto loses to a former flyweight champ in brutal fashion, then yes, I would say so. That only means, he is infact shot already at a young age. On the other hand, if he loses a close decision, then no way. While it's hard to imagine Manny winning this for me(unlike so many others ) Manny is great at sticking to a gameplan that works, and should it work against Cotto, it's only a great fighter executing a great gameplan. No shame in losing to that.

Yeah, but Margarito shouldn't waste his time on him if he can't even beat Manny. Margarito needs to go after the guys who hold wins over him in Shane Mosley and Paul Williams. But he's allergic to avenging defeats and loves to go after guys he already beat.

        Mayweather is a moron....

he THINKS he's the best, but if he's not fighting the best man in his division he isn't going to be a future hall of famer.

he'll be reminded as one of the best of our ERA.

if cotto loses he still will have big fights to make with mosley, margarito and clottey rematches. also if its clnse and competitive he can rematch pac since arum already mentioned it. as for mosley wanting to be the best of his era and having to beat pbf, how can he beat him if pbf wont fight him?

If Cotto loses then what does he have to look forward too? Fights with Berto, Mosley, Clottey won't bring him anymore glory. He has nothing to win by beating Mosley or Clottey.

He can fight Margarito and win or lose it won't do much for him. If he beats Margarito they'll say he was shot. So why bring Margarito money after he cheated on you. Now if Cotto can used the plaster on Margarito that would be different.

So what does he have left? A fight with Mayweather? After another battle and a lost to Pacquiao He might be too shot to win. I doubt Mayweather will fight him after he fights Pacquiao he'll retire.

So what is there left? P. Williams? At this stage its suicide if he can't beat Pac I doubt he beats Williams. Before the Margarito fight I thought he had enough to win, but I doubt he can take the same punishment now than before.

Theres no De La Hoya, no other big names out there. Its Game Over.
