That has been the story of his career. No good boxer wanted to face him. And who has Janibek face?
I'd bet that the PEDs are his normal routine, not something special he did to beat Lara.
I really like Lara but he has never faced a ranked middleweight and he hasn't faced a fighter with a pulse at all since Castano in 2019. Since then he's fought Ramon Alvarez, Greg Vendetti, Cornflake LaManna, Spike O'Sullivan, Michael Zerafa, and the ghost of welterweight Danny Garcia. Truly, truly horrible level of competition.Comment

Lara faced numerous good opponents at 154, what are you talking about?
Carlos Molina, Paul Williams, Vanes Martirosyan twice, Alfredo Angulo, Austin Trout, Canelo Alvarez, Ishe Smith, Jan Zaveck, Yuri Foreman, Terrell Gausha, Jarrett Hurt, Brian Castano, etc.
But at 160 he hasn't even faced a ranked opponent.
Janibek's resume isn't fantastic by any stretch but he's faced some decent middleweights -- old man N'Dam, Rob Brant, Vincenzo Gualtieri in a unification, Anauel Ngamissengue, etc. Nothing special but still far better than welterweight Danny G or Cornflake Lamanna.Comment

And yet, some of you guys had Garcia whooping the old man. Do you really think that he hasn't faced a good 160 by choice?

I'm not speculating as to why and how. I'm evaluating the facts as I see them. I'm a fan of Lara, I like him and root for him. But his resume at 160 is paper thin.Comment
