As good as Buff Guy Artur is

high likelihood that a lot was taken out of him after 3 consecutive fights with Top Soviet Bivol

We’ll have to see how Buff Guy Artur looks in Q1 during trilogy

given all the wear and tear I’m liking Fat Dave’s superior chin, defense, speed, creative combos, and sustained body attack over Artur’s big power bombs and sporadic back foot boxing

in simple terms speed > power

Benavidez vs Opetia is a dream fight because they are both very capable of hurting each and are both equally as aggressive. Opetia has been previously hurt by Nyika & Breidis while Benavidez was staggered by Morrell. That fight would shorten both of their careers though because both of them aint taking a backward step with the mostly likely outcome being one of them getting brutally slept. There's no way that fight goes the full duration

Bivol has a style to beat everyone at 175lbs however Benavidez body attacks would have a real chance of disrupting what he does best. Bivol's elite foot work, transitioning from being light on his feet to planting his feet launching attacks is his main strength but because Benavidez frequently invests to the body, Bivol would likely find it hard to keep that up. Bivol would start slowing in the second half of the fight and could start getting pushed back and punished.

then old man recanted saying it was the other way around

Fat Dave confirms here that neither were knocked down

they had multiple great sparring sessions and Fat Dave got the better of the last spar if you believe his story
          Thanks, man!

Both guys are highly skilled, highly spiteful, and a joy to watch. That would be a WAR!!

Bivol has fast hands, too. But, not as fast as Benavidez. And Bivol has a disciplined, fundamental style, too, with the excellent footwork you mentioned. I have a hard time seeing Bivol (any fighter, really) dealing with the combinations Benavidez puts together. I'd love to see that fight.

The body work would break Bivol imo. His is very technical but basic.

Parker's Cousin Buff Guy Jai is to Fat Dave what Top Soviet Bivol was to Saul

                  fast hands are overrated

Top Soviet Bivol has the faster feet and quickness to time counters on Fat Dave

Footwork gets positions to attack and defend. Fast Flurry Manny kept getting outmaneuvered by Agile Mayweather

Top Soviet Bivol makes basic work because he's a master of timing distance feinting

Fat Dave often puts one speed punches together whereas Top Soviet varies the speed of his strikes to catch the opp

the one speed spear jab of Fat Dave gets parry jab countered by Top Soviet

Top Soviet Bivol has a titanium body this isn't flabby Usyk with a suspect midsection

Despite being much smaller than Usyk, Top Soviet Bivol took a right hook left hook combo downstairs from big power bomb Artur in smaller pro gloves no prob

a single Artur right to the body in big amateur gloves sent Usyk down

Whenever Fat Dave gets pass the movement of Top Soviet Bivol he'll clinch and use his head to stuff the opp offensively as seen in the Artur fights

Dave didn't look so hot in the final third of the fight in his bouts with Soviet Gvozdyk and Morrell. Each got back into the fight as Dave slowed down and took most of their rounds in these segments

Fat Dave counter game declines when faced with a fast hand opp who can combo body head body. Top Soviet Bivol did these combos plenty on Artur!

I'd love to see Benavidez vs Beterbiev - Granted I think he is too old but I'd like to see it before he got any older.

I'm thinking of scenario that this could happen

Jan Fat Gilbert beats his tune-up

March or April Top Soviet Bivol 9-3 Buff Guy Artur

May Fat Dave beats Fat Gilbert

Oct Top Soviet Bivol 9-3 Fat Dave

Oct undercard Buff Guy Artur beats Cuban David better than Fat Dave did

April 2026 Top Soviet Bivol 7-5 Buff Guy Jai

June 2026 30 year old Fat Dave v 42 year old Buff Guy Artur
