Lennox Lewis - Razor Ruddock. And learned not to overvalue a “good account of himself in losing” from the 2nd Tyson fight
Name a fight you were absolutely wrong about.

Lomachenko vs Lopez. I thought it was way too early for Teofimo, I thought Loma would break him down and stop him late. Teofimo actually outboxed him the entire first half of the fight.
Also Badou Jack is my literal nemesis when it comes to betting. I bet on Dirrell and Groves to beat him. Bet on him to beat Bute and DeGale (I think he deserved to win both) only got a draw. Bet on him to beat Browne and he lost and then recently I thought the jump up to Cruiserweight wouldn’t work and bet on Makabu to KO him, midway through saw Jack was outboxing him and backed Jack on points in play. Jack stopped him the 12th round.

Jack has had some of the wonkiest scorecards in his career of any fighter I've ever seen.Lomachenko vs Lopez. I thought it was way too early for Teofimo, I thought Loma would break him down and stop him late. Teofimo actually outboxed him the entire first half of the fight.

I was a huge Margarito fan at the time (P Will too)
Real quick - I was nervous before that fight because obviously Williams was really good; and me and my dad had attended one of Margarito's early fights after reading about him in the paper.
It was against a tall southpaw who you might even remember, Rodney Jones who'd fight at the Forum once in a while. Margarito lost handily - I've never been able to find video of that fight, but I guarantee had you seen it beforehand, you probably would have had second thoughts.
It was a lesson fight for me as well. I didn't want to believe a loss or struggle against a similar style so distant in the past could rear its head again, but it can.Last edited by LA_2_Vegas; 11-21-2025, 07:04 PM.👍 1Comment

Too many. Definitely Canelo-Crawford. Still shocked how bad Canelo looked against an older, smaller fighter. Munguia Surace.. dude was a 20-1 favorite coming off a Canelo fight, then got starched out. Ruiz - Joshua was wild.. last minute replacement came in looking like a muffin, got beat pillar to post for 2 rounds, then knocked AJ out.. completely changing the course of his career.Comment

I have been wrong many times but Wlad/Fury, I really thought Wlad was too polished, punched too hard, and was too big a step up in class for that awkward lump👍 1Comment

Really thought Garcia could knock out tank, foolish now. Parker vs Wilder, plenty more, also thought Dubois had a good chance vs usyk, madness.👍 1Comment

I mean just recently for me:
Parker-Wardley - I did not see how Wardley could win that fight after seeing him get so thoroughly outboxed against Huni.
I was seeing way more people than I expected picking Wardley outright, so I was already getting nervous beforehand. I was wondering, "what have I missed about Wardley; is my view on Parker old and stale, and just plain wrong?" I think it was the Parker end of itLast edited by LA_2_Vegas; 11-21-2025, 07:27 PM.Comment

Sergio Martinez vs Cotto
I was one of the ''If Sergio is at even X% crowd he'll destroy Cotto'' crowd. I learned a valuable lesson from that one.
Danny Garcia a good few times but I thought Matthysse would literally end his life.👍 1Comment
