But he’s okay enough to where I’m at this point convinced he’s done alright skill-wise for somebody that literally started boxing slightly more than half a decade ago. I think on a subconscious level what irks people is the fact that Jake has basically strolled into boxing with no amateur training, beaten a lot of high profile fighters (regardless of MMA/boxing) and is making MUCH MUCH MUCH more than somebody that probably has MUCH MUCH MUCH more talent…but doesn’t have the social backing so they make huge bucks but not Netflix money huge.

I’m not saying Paul beats AJ by the way. I’m just saying (as per my last post) that if I wanted someone to get the job done I’d pick Tank over AJ…simply for the fact that Tank hasn’t been massively concussed like AJ or coming off a long layoff since September 2024 (Dubois KO). AJ should win…I just would’ve rather had Tank get the job done is all.

Those press conferences are going to be really awkward. I like AJ, but he is not quick-witted or witty for that matter. Paul’s going to insult him and AJ is going to try and talk trash but it’s going to come off as disjointed. None of this really matters. Let December come…
I think you're overthinking this. AJ might be past his best but he's a seasoned professional with truly concussive power. JP is a guy from YouTube who lost to Tommy Fury, who himself is a grifter from reality TV. If this is not fixed in some way or AJ decides to carry him, this is possibly one of the most dangerous mismatches ever sanctioned.

That is a real concern. I retract my statement about win-win. There’s not a faster trek of Netflix pulling out of boxing than Paul getting put to sleep and into a coma for taking a right hand bomb. Those punches from AJ rocked Dubois mere seconds before Dubois stopped HIM.

Correct. There must be some kind of fix as if this is a genuine fight then it's seriously dangerous.

I've said all along that this celebrity boxing thing is going to end the sport. Someone is going to get cabbaged in front of millions of lefties.

And yet, as someone said earlier, in this weird world it probably sets up the Fury v Joshua fight better than any legitimate fight. Fury will release the next series of his popular reality TV show on Netflix, Joshua will do 50 million streams fighting a YouTuber on Netflix, and the fight will happen.

In no right world does Jake Paul win this. In fact, I don't see in any scenario that he doesn't get KTFO. He's an amateur boxer at best going up against a gold Olympic medalist that is still one one of the hardest heavyweight punchers active today.

If they're looking at his DDD lost and thinking that he's ripe for the picking, they're probably right. Except not for Jake Paul to be the guy to do the picking. How about another top level elite heavyweight instead? Not a rookie whose not even a true heavyweight himself. This is going to end bad for Jake if this is 100% legit with zero handicaps in Jake's favor.

100% lots of us have been worried about this for a while. That eventually maybe even a fight between youtubers that there was gonna be a major injury when it became obvious that one of them could fight and one of them couldn't.

I dunno how I ended up watching it but I remember watching a Misfits card and a bloke called Afghan Dan fight another UK rapper. I guess.

It was pretty funny but the serious point was that it was not just that Afghan Dan couldn't fight (I doubt he hit a heavy bag) but you could instantly see he was an all round fragile human who wasn't remotely fit or strong. He dislocated his shoulder when he eventually threw a shot.

They lucked out that the other fighter was a lad that smoked 40 a day. But I genuinely think most normal, healthy men even of Afghan Dan size would knock him out - now imagine someone that actually could fight?

Now what we have here is someone that can fight a bit in Jake Paul (he can!) against a 6'5 18 stone former 2x heavyweight champion.

I don't see how AJ can carry him. Unless he literally doesn't throw a punch.

If it happens - he'll knock him out and he'll knock him out badly.

if i need a bit of a lift i just watch AJ's comical ring breakdown v usyk that time

imagine if, i mean just imagine because thats all it is, fake paul actually did stop AJ somehow someway, what would AJ do when he comes around? throw fake paul out of the ring? or throw himself off the building roof?

i seem to remember everyone saying fury v ngannou was a dangerous mismatch (heavyweight champ versus a guy who had never boxed professionally) and then the guy who got put on his ass was fury
