Nice to see Mosqueda is getting some appreciation, he is fighting this Sunday and is viewed as the favorite for the tournament in the featherweight category.

Re Azim, I think you're mistaken as he had a VERY successful amateur career winning 10 national titles and the European championship. He was also ranked the #1 youth Welterweight in the world at one point. As far as his pro career is concerned, he just took out Lipinets who previously held a world title. He's also ranked #4 by BoxRec currently.

Re Surov, I've never heard of this kid but will take your word for it. What are his accomplishments?

I am doing very well. Thanks for asking.

Sorov is an emerging heavyweight boxer with some pop in his firsts. He can in fight and out fight. At the young age of 20 he has the best footwork and foot speed I have seen in the division for the past 25 years!

A very athletic guy, he has very good accuracy and hand speed. He can beat his man to the punch, OR use his footwork so the other guy can not set his feet, but he can! He move equally well going back and forth and can circle well to either side.

The young Russian amateur boxer in the super heavyweight division (over 92 kg). At just 20 years old (born around 2005), he's already generating significant buzz in the boxing community for his technical prowess and potential to become a future star.

          Physical Attributes and Style
          • Height: 6'2" (188 cm)
          • Estimated Reach: 78" (198 cm)
          • Estimated weight 220 Lbs.
          • Fighting Style: Often compared to Oleksandr Usyk for his size and scientific approach, but with a more fundamental, less flashy technique. He is a better athlete than Usyk I say. He's praised for:
            • Speedy footwork and fast hands.
            • Straight punches to the head and body with notable power.
            • Strong defensive fundamentals, including ducking and evasion.
            • Improving inside game, making him a "complete" heavyweight prospect.
          Career Highlights
          • Amateur Ranking: Currently rated #2 in the amateur super heavyweight division worldwide. With Bakhodir Jalolov (Olympic gold medalist) expected to transition to professional boxing, Surov is positioned to rise quickly.
          • Notable Fights:
            • June 21, 2025: Exhibition bout against Jackson Murray at KSK Arena. This matchup was hyped as a showcase for Surov's development, with forums calling him the "next all-time great heavyweight."
            • August 22, 2025: Beat Alexander Dorofeev in the Russian Championship (over 92 kg category).
            • June 21, 2024: Faced Olympic champion Bakhodir Jalolov in the semi-finals of an international event, highlighting his elite-level competition early on. The fight was a good one and Jarlov had a huge age and experience edge.
He is just a boy. In a few years he will become a man.

based off your description and the snippet I just saw Dave is more Top Soviet Bivol Russian style than that ukrainian cossack Usyk

Another 1-2 boxer who utilizes Linear Soviet Step

Don't think that's always the case, there are cases of explosive fighters like Israel Vazquez, Jose Luis Lopez, Ricardo Lopez and etc. Luis Alberto Lopez and Eduardo Nunez are recent cases even if Lopez's run had been derailed.

The Thing is however, it is rare to see a explosive mexican boxer-puncher who is already showcasing a complete skillset at age 21. Getting early experience against a good set of opposition, and if he wins he be a top 10 WBC ranked fighter for early 2026.

He had been compared to Marco Antonio Barrera by the commentators of the fight. Which I am not sure it is a right comparison personally (and too early to say), Brandon most use his jab more consistently to be compared. He also uses his footwork for angles more like Gilberto Roman.

Whoever makes it out of the Tank, Shakur, Ryan, Teo and Haney scrum by beating everyone else will be a top p4p star imo.
