      I remember he got cancer about 35 years ago. He should be the poster boy for not giving up after a cancer diagnosis, RIP to a very good color analyst...

        Damn! I miss the good ole days. Those weekend matinee fights on network television like ABC. Alex Wallau reminds me of that time period.

        I used to remember him calling fights on ABC: like the Terrry Norris vs Julian Jackson and John Mugabi fights. Likewise, James Toney vs Reggie Johnson and Dave Tiberi.

        Also, Pernell Whitaker, Roger Mayweather, Greg Haugen Evander Holyfield. Yes, those were the good ole’ days of boxing. When boxing was a mainstream sport in the US.
