Exactly! Poor baby can't get a free belt. Oh and always these issues with his health. I mean, i don't want to be cold hearted, but if boxing is too hard, find another job. He's already a millionaire, so open a gym, or a shop, or go back to school.Comment

well he had a chance to fight for a belt at 154 and turned it down when he could have then had unifications and big fights as a belt holder
fundora is busy with his stuff and boots ennis is his mando i think, what does ortiz expect people to do just drop everything and fight him lol
there is a tried and tested way to a title shot which works a fair bit in boxing, u make yourself mando and then the title holder has to fight u or vacate
i have no sympathy for him whatsover, hes got good fights recently and got the rub of the green in a close one where he was dropped twice and is complaining like this and turning down title fights, wow hard to believe
If a title fight is offered, fighters should take the fight. If they win, the new champion calls the shots.👍 1Comment

the ibf drop this clause for unifications i think, otherwise we may never see any undisputed guys at all lol
the rules are too hodge podge, the ibf mean well by trying to make sure guys are around the same weight but it needs a unified all orgs approach and noone seems interested at all
why not just weight them shortly before they go to the ring hbo style like they do with jockies before the race to make sure all is fair, u are over u pay a heafty % to your opponent, something really nasty to make sure it doesnt happen, if u are a serial over guy u dont get fights lol
I'm 100 percent in favor of weighing in just before the fight. If the fight is contracted at 160, fighters should enter the ring at 160. The public is the only one being deceived👍 1Comment

True, Ortiz does live a clean life but also true is that he can have a championship fight tomorrow if he is willing to abide by the rules of the belt's sanctioning body...period... and Vergil and Oscar both know that..
At 154lbs Fundora is in PBC prison and he'll stay there until they need him to move up to fill in for one of the current PBC middleweight champions. Bob Arum has the 154lb WBO champion and he's not going to risk the belt to anyone outside of the Top Rank prison.
In short,Vergil can have a shot at the 154lb IBF belt tomorrow and he's take it if it were Xander Zayas but not against a very strong, tough guy like Bakhram Murtazaliev and that is the honest truth.
That said I don't blame Vegil or Oscar, boxing is a business of risk reward but claiming no champions will give Ortiz a chance because is absolute, pure unadulterated BS.

I understood that weight was an issue at 147 so Virgil Ortiz moved up a weight class in 2024 . One year later Virgil Ortiz can't fight for championship unless he is allowed to break IBF weight rules....and it's Bakhram Murtazaliev fault. Basically , that's what Virgil is selling.Comment
