I would much rather have seen Janibek v adames, but this is still a good match for the division. I believe janibek is the best at 160, but he needs to prove it.

Seems like they lost patience with Adames and went with the guy who actually wanted to fight rather than just talk about it.

I guess Janibek will win just because Lara is old af that said I am not sure Janibek has fought a southpaw or many as an amateur even.
Lara has fought countless elite southpaws and done fantastic.

Southpaw vs southpaw will always be a slow paced chess match which is exactly what Lara wants.


A bit of a goofy fight really but I think the unknowns make it compelling.
Rooting for Lara as always, big ask at this stage but what a feather in the cap that would be.

Adames has an overdue mandatory. The WBC may want to get that mandatory out of the way so that they can get a piece of any potential sanctioning fees should a Crawford/Turki fight emerge at 160.

He will win. Alimkhanuly is a bit overrated based on smashing unknown cab drivers. Lara has never been outboxed in a professional boxing ring. Power alone won't beat him.

42 and hasn't been in a rough fight since Hurd. He's simply too skilled for Alimkhanuly and Adames. Why do you think none of these guys are breaking their necks to fight him? Why not go jump on the "old Cuban" and take his WBA belt?

Not saying I’m not rooting for him. Lol I just don’t think Lara can pull this off at his age. I like to think I’m objective, not some bleary-eyed fanboy. Ten years ago this guy couldn’t carry Landy’s jock, but Father Time is undefeated.
