Another example is Bradley-Witter, with Jr. W having the unorthodox style and Bradley using more of a traditional approach.

Hi again Samurai.

I have never been a fan of the Ingle style, it can only ever go so far. You can almost guarantee a Kessler win when Froch faces him.
And Herol Graham gave a prime Mike McCallum (who most now regard as an ATG) arguably his toughest fight, which he only lost as a result of points deducted for low blows, so he must have been doing something right.

I think your theory is far too simplistic. It would have taken a Joe Louis to expose Ali - possibly. And Hamed had cleared out the division before being exposed by Barrera - and even then, he hadn't taken his training seriously, to the extent that Manny Steward threatened to walk out several times. It's impossible to be sure what would have happened if the best, most focussed, version of Hamed had turned up for that fight.
You have a point, but there's a difference here. Jones, for example, was athletic enough and had a fast enough reaction time to get away with being unorthodox. I don't think Froch has anywhere near the same reflexes that he can rely on to sneak, slip and slide out of the way of punches.
Joe wasn't that unorthodox. He is quite traditional, actually, and certainly nowhere bear being an Ingle-style fighter.
Ali was just something else completely. He's such a one-off I don't even want to include him in the conversation.
As for Hamed, I'm sorry, I just never rated him, even when he was at his peak. I have an older brother who followed his career a bit, watched his fights and bought videos on him. I used ask "why do you like this clown? He will be beaten by a smart boxer soon.", and shortly afterwards Barrera whipped him. You say he was lacking motivation, and that's why he put in a lackluster performance? I disagree. He just hadn't met the right opponent who could take him apart until he met Barrera, a fighter who Hamed avoided, right? My brother used to talk to Naz in bars and stuff when he saw him around town. Naz apparently went quiet when he told him to watch out for Barrera. This was a long time before they fought, too.
