    The last comments from Calzaghe were, even according to this site I think were the following;

    ""The best thing for British boxing would be a Carl Froch win, I am sick of him talking about me and don’t want to put him down anymore, he’s got a lot of heart, is a big-hitter and deserves great credit for his career," Calzaghe told South Wales Argus.

    "He’s very vulnerable as he doesn’t really defend too much, but I expect him to beat Andre Dirrell on Saturday and to go fairly well in this. I wish him the best of luck, but if a year of inactivity hasn’t affected Mikkel Kessler too badly, he’s head and shoulders the best fighter in the tournament. I don’t fancy Froch’s chances if he faces Kessler, but I wish him well anyway."

    Pretty positive words really. The comments this article is referring to are older so not new words of war. Furthermore even Carl's comments aren't all that firey at all towards Joe.

    A non story indeed.
    Right on.

    The guy who wrote the article should be fired from BoxingScene for writing sensationalist garbage no better than The Sun.

      Fair play. You don't have to be a fan to analyze styles and come up with the most likely winner. I can't stand Floyd, for example, and I'm a big Pacquiao fan, but being honest I'd say Floyd either gives Manny one hell of a tricky fight or just downright beats him. Similar thing with the Klitschko's. I don't like watching them, I'm not a fan at all, but I know for sure they'd beat the ever living **** out of pretty much any heavyweight on the planet right now. Same goes for Calzaghe. It will be a while before we see another SMW like that. Love him or hate him, it's very hard to doubt Calzaghe's ability to adapt and win. Froch would not stand a chance, I don't even think he'd win a single round.

        Again he says he wishes Kessler wins so he wont have to face Ward, in accord with what he said in May about Ward being too tricky and he doesnt want to fight him.

          If Ward wins, Froch still fights Kessler. The fight is already set. So obviously he would prefer a unification fight.

            If they fought it doesnt mean it would be a title fight.

Guts and toughness go a long way but Froch does lack decent skills...I hope he does well but I just cant see him winning this!
              not just skills... kessler is just plain better

                Froch is a myth, people call him a pressure fighter but he isnt one, he doesnt come forward like that, he sat and watched Dirrell most of the fight not coming forward or punching, afraid to get countered. A true pressure fighter comes forward regardless.

                      He totally is. He's more of a traditional boxer, too, and from my experience usually a boxer with solid fundamentals and a llittle bit of pop beats an unorthodox fighter. Barrera-Hamed would be a perfect example. Style-wise, Hamed threw the rule book out the window, while Barrera used boxing basics to completely take him apart. Another example is Bradley-Witter, with Jr. W having the unorthodox style and Bradley using more of a traditional approach.

                      Froch has a style which resembles the Ingle fighters. Most of the time they end up getting a beating against good competition. I have never been a fan of the Ingle style, it can only ever go so far. You can almost guarantee a Kessler win when Froch faces him.
