Assessing Gervonta Davis' career if he retires after fighting Jake Paul

How would you assess Gervonta Davis' career if he walks away from the sport after fighting Jake Paul?

    1 being the most disappointing
10 being he accomplished everything you'd want him to in his career
Could Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis walk away from boxing after fighting Jake Paul? #PaulTank

If he avoids injury and gets out with life changing money such that he doesn’t have to keep fighting when he’s old like so many have had to, I consider his career successful.

    Imo He isn’t a HOFer.

His legacy will be that every fighter he has ever fought had been handpicked. Also, he will be known as a protected fighter who was spoon fed very easy competition and opposition.

Unfortunately, he will be remembered for taking very few to no risks at all outside of the ring. He will probably be ranked last among the four kings at lightweight due to his reluctance to take any risks or fight stiffer competition.

I know this assessment sounds harsh but it’s also very accurate. It is what it is. What a waste of talent and potential?

hes not retiring ive heard him say that or read it many times

he should just try to unify his division he will clearly win some of these fights and lose some but who cares hes got good cash and will earn a lot more doing that

          4.

I'd consider his career a HUGE disappointment.

He'd go down in history as the worst American "cash cow" fighter in history.

He's supposed to be the heir to the lineage of Leonard, De La Hoya, & Floyd, especially since Broner didn't pan out.

He was in the most talented corridor in boxing for 7 years (130-140) with multiple P4P fighters, who were all foaming at the mouth to fight Tank & he fought none of them.

The fact that he can punch makes it all the more frustrating.

Could have easily been 10 and a backflip off the top rope.

              Money wise an 7.

              Legacy wise a 2.

He's made some good coin even though many of his fights bombed ppv wise aside from panty Cruz and Garcia fight who he put restrictions on. Now the fight with paul.

Legacy wise hes only beaten pedraza and got a gift against puppy cruz and roach. Nothing worth remembering. He'd always be down on the scorecards til his power bailed him out.

He'll go down as a guy who made a lot of money, but was a massive let down in regards to the hype he had at age 23.

Very poor resume. I don't think any fighters beaten in the Top 5 and if there is any there's not many.

He played the business aspect of boxing very well with his talent and can't fault him for that but didn't fight alot of great opponents, no rivals major rematches or legacy fights. Just a guy with a great deal of natural talent and skill who made the most money he could until he just didn't feel like it anymore.
