Dude is past it. He had a good run, made tons of money and lost the his meaningful fights at 147.

Who is going to tell Danny he is not relevant as a serious fighter anymore? Why would he rent out the entire Barclays for a farewell that the fans didn't need or ask for, I legit thought he got the hint after Lara smacked him, and was going to break out...guess not. For a savvy businessman, this is a horrible investment, probably made this fight on basically two weeks notice because nobody else would pay for it.

Seems to be a ton of hate heaped on a guy that has one of the best resumes' of his generation. Morales, Khan, Judah, Matthysse, Peterson, Malignaggi, Guerrero, Thurmond, Porter, Spence and Lara. Sure, some of those are more "B" level fighters, but who else in the 140-147 division has had a career like that? The man deserves his flowers.

              What a fighter.

Not hating on him, if anything I enjoyed watching him fight. But the stretches of inactivity and him getting stopped in his last fight it's time for him to hang it up for good. He is fighting a no name at the big venue that might flop.

I get what you're saying. He should have done this a few years back. Now that most people have assumed that he's been retired is bad timing. I hope that the show does well for his sake and the undercard fighters too .
