Not gonna go into too much detail but he was due to attend an event last night and didn't. Friends were worried about his well being and contacted the police, which resulted in them finding him this morning.

    Very sad.
Yep...just read an article where he talked about having suicidal thoughts after going to the pub. However, he stopped drinking and STILL had those same thoughts. Poor guy.

He was absolutely fearless in the ring and a warrior but unfortunately mental health is the toughest of battles.

    RIP Ricky

Like others have said, I really hope it wasn't suicide. Either way, another good man is gone. Rest in peace Ricky, you lit up the boxing scene and gave millions of people around the world some great nights.

Awe man. I’ve always loved Hatton. Gone far too young. Rest in peace, champ.

What the shiet! Dam, horrible past couple of days. The stabbing of the girl on the train, the Kirk shooting, Canelo Crawford fight was a joke, and now this ???

    Dang, Rest in Power Champ!

lifes not always health and happiness, one minute u can be ok the next it all starts to fall apart, can happen to anyone too, everyone has a breaking point, some are more up and down than others tho and when it goes wrong it really goes wrong

RIP to a true Manchester Icon.

We all love boxers but the ones that become legendry usually find themselves as a cultural symbol of the City they're from.

    Proper Manc.

He was never gonna be an uber professional because he was a lad who loved a pint and a night out which led to some documented issues. But a very relatable bloke. Had an excellent career too.

Too young. Hoping he died happy.

Nobody has a bad word to say about him which is always the measure of any man.
