I believe one of the interviews was with Fighthype. Oscar made it clear he didn't want the fight....offering the fight with a built in deal killer was an act of genius. Seems like people see and hear what they want to hear to justify what they feel.

Vergil has fought Bohachuk and Madrimov at 154lbs. Boots is fighting Lima. Boots may have won a vacant title at 147lbs, but which fighter on his resume would not have gotten KO'd by Vergil?

I think Vergil would have struggled with Karen Chukahdzian. I also think he struggles with Stanionis. Vergil is too far along in his career to not have fought a real champion at 147 or 154. Murtazaliev, Fundora, Zayas and the WBA title will be vacant on September 14th. The excuses for Vergil are starting to dry up.

I used to think Ortiz-Stanionis was going to be a 12-rd war, but now I realize Ortiz would have murdered him because Stanionis and his team are soft. There isn't a figheter on Boots' resume who Vergil would would not have put to sleep.

That's interesting because when Robert Garcia was asked about fighting Boots, he said it was a fight he'd consider "down the road". That was 3-4 years ago. We are now "down the road".

Hammer, get into 15 round dog shape for Ortiz. Ortiz is a rugged physical fight... you're a seasoned pro now, and battle tested. No one can question your heart. Make sure to stay sharp and alert especially in clinches. You see everything. Make him work for every shot, stay tight and stay busy. I hope you lock in and work your jab and combinations to perfection that night, and Oh, and he can be hurt, too. Sit down on your punches sometimes, but don't be greedy, just focused and follow your plan. I'm rooting for you all the way
