Reign? The guy fought once at that weight. he has been sitting on his ass and waiting on canelo since than. Crawford has never been relevant at 154, only wasting our time, taking belt hostage.

I'll use the two fighters in this event as proof to the contrary, since you want to be a d!ck about it...

Canelo held his WBA middleweight title until January 2021 - more than 18 months after his last middleweight fight (May 2019), and having fought and won titles at light heavyweight and super middleweight during that time.

Canelo was permitted to remain undisputed super middleweight champion through his May 2022 defeat to Dmitry Bivol at light heavyweight.

Bud was permitted to keep his WBA and WBO welterweight titles through his Aug. 2023 WBA 154lbs title win over Israil Madrimov. He didn't vacate the WBO 147 title until Aug 12, 2024 - nine days later - and then the WBA 147 belt until August 31, 2024, four weeks after his win over Madrimov.

In all three scenarios, they entered and exited the ring with their previously held titles intact despite fighting at another weight.

This happens more often than not, especially when involving elite fighters. Being stripped of your title once you enter the ring is actually less common than you think.

Canelo Will Win A Decision. I Don't See Canelo Stopping Crawford.

What's going to be the excuse when Canelo win? Canelo is shorter than Crawford and shorter arms.

Of course Charlo waits until Crawford is gone to claim his title shot.

It's not a reign. It's about being introduced as a champion in a weight class that has the word "middle" in the title to sell the stakes of the fight.

Saying "Super Middleweight champion Canelo vs Jr Middleweight champion Crawford" sounds more competitive than saying "...Welterweight champion Crawford"

I love Crawford, but he was never really a champion at 154. Legacy-wise, he should never be seen as really winning a belt at 154 because he never beat a champion for the belt, pure and simple.

The closer that it gets the more that I am looking forward to this fight. At first I considered it a mismatch because of the weight but they don't appear to be very far apart on size. It's an interesting fight that could go either way.
