Vergil ducked boots when they were both at 147 ibs. As for recent times, Boots was upset at the miscommunications between the teams, and vergil's team took this opportunity to paint boots as some ducker when that wasn't the case. Vergil ducked crawford after calling him out at 147 ibs. Vergil never wanted anything to do with spence as well. He only called out their names when it was convenient to do so.
Ducked him how? Are you my son's TheIronMike alt??
Booty "aint it" is trash ducked Crawford and big papi ortiz!
Now I’ve made my pick. After rewatching the Jesus Ramos vs Erickson Lubin fight;I got Vergil Ortiz winning this fight by way of decision.
Erickson’s lack of punch volume and wiork rate in that fight weighed heavily on my pick for Vergil Ortiz. Moreover, he is not the most defensively sound either. He is easy to find.
In addition, he won’t stand and trade and exchange punches or go toe to toe with Ortiz because he lacks both the size and power in order to do so.
Lastly, I don’t get the moniker of slick boxer either as Lubin is very easy to hit. He has no high guard or any head movement either. As he is very easy to hit.
Also, he cannot circle the ring as a south paw without his back constantly touching the ropes against infighting pressure fighters like Vergil Ortiz.
He is constantly on the ropes absorbing too much punishment to ever be called a slick fighter. As he cannot fight the pressure fighters off of him.
In order to do so. Then he needs power and keep the action in the center of the ring but his feet are slow. Lastly, Ortiz wins this fight because he is the fresher of the two.
Vergil is not as shopworn or have the wear and tear on his body as Lubin does. That’s why I’m picking him to win this fight.

I think Lubin will have to eventually stand his ground. He'll have the southpaw (Ortiz hasn't fought one since McKinson) and reach advantage, so I think it's a bad idea to allow Ortiz to build forward momentum. Lubin showed a lot of toughness vs. Fundora, and he's going to have to go to that dark place again vs. Ortiz. It's not like Lubin is feather-fisted.
I respect Zayas despite his extremely weak resume for a current beltholder, but still young and with lot proving to do still but lets face it, if you put Zayas and Ortiz inside a ring rn, any non hating respectable fan knows Virgil would most likely put a beating on the kid and take that belt along with it, I think most here are aware and some are mad just because lol.
Speaking of Boots, hes doing some sparring rounds with Canelo in preparation for Bud, boy I would love to watch that footage.
Ortiz is an old prospect with no title in site. He’s bailed on shots because he thinks he’s bigger than he really is. He’s a nobody. Funny how lame ass Mexicans want to argue about not being able to stop someone but then change their tone when it’s mentioned their king Canelo hasn’t stopped anyone in 4 years. Dude couldn’t even stop scrubs like munguia and Berlanga who got stopped early in their next fights.
His taking it easy on Puerto Ricans like Berlanga. Dropped him in the 3rd and just cruises to easy victories.

Yeah and he didn’t want to stop munguia because he didn’t want to hurt another Mexicans career , right? Or…maybe you accept the truth, which is that he’s not as good as you think.
“When Boots made the decision to go to 154 Virgil posted a pic saying his hand was hurt and his father said that Boots missed his chance (when he was a weight class lower) and he needed to get to the back of the line. Now the story is they've sent Boots two contracts?”
Did you read that article last week when Ortiz’s dad said Boots missed his chance?
Ortiz is 27 years old. He NEVER won a title at Welterweight. He is going to move to 160 without wining a title at 154.
Look at their records and it’s clear who has the strength of schedule. Why doesn’t bootsy fight bakram? He could’ve got that shot right away coming up as the IBF champ to a new weight class? Instead he’s fighting ANOTHER bum then begging for an Ortiz fight he already ducked? Why is so hard for bootsy to fight a decent opponent? Vergil out here fighting killers while bootsy fighting puffs #theyarenotthesame
