Comments Thread For: Chris Algieri?s School of Thought: Talk of Oleksandr Usyk-Moses Itauma is insane

It?s absurd to even consider someone who?s had 13 fights, after a relatively short amateur career, a possible opponent for Usyk, argues former world champion and ProBox commentator Chris Algieri.

Agreed, but he should step-up another level. Need to fight someone serious, top 20 quality and move up the TBRB rankings

Adeleye giving Itauma fits, i think not.

Goodman hurt ball to the body on quite a few occasions, inoue will destroy him......

The only matchup mentioned in this article that made me think "Oh hell yeah" is Inouye vs Nakatani.

Moses v Bakole or Jile Chang next, and if successful, then Hergovic after to see if any of them can give him some rounds and get some variety from his next experiences.

Hrgovic was on the same card for a reason, me thinks. That fight should be next.

Usyk in the top three all time heavyweight champions with Ali and Lennox Lewis????
Joe Louis and Larry Holmes must be chopped liver.
WHO has Usyk beaten to merit that ranking??
Out of ten fights at heavyweight he fought the same three guys twice. Three weak and flawed opponents.
                The rest are easily forgettable.

I like Chris Algiere, but please let’s not get carried away here.

If Itauma fought Usyk next then Usyk would be a big favourite, but I’ve been watching boxing for a long time and, IME, it is unusual for skill and experience to beat blistering speed. Ali beats Liston, RJJ beats BHop and Toney, Meldrick beat McGirt. Speed kills and Itauma is a 21st century Michael Dokes who doesn’t drink a bottle of brandy a day, smoke herb or snort coke.
