  • Comments Thread For: Serious Business: Moses Itauma already has his next opponents lined up

When Moses Itauma prepared to fight Mike Balogun back in May, the idea behind it was twofold: one, beat Mike Balogun in impressive fashion to crank up the hype, and two, get ready to fight Dillian Whyte, a more evolved version of Balogun, sometime in August.?

Whyte => Zhang => Dubois => Usyk (or if retired, Parker)

I think Whyte would have been a test about five years ago; I think Moses will get him out of there early at this stage of his career. We'll see.

Not a good idea to start counting chickens, however...

If he beats Whyte, I like Itauma v Zhang. He's old but has good hands and power. Plus what does Zhang have at this point, unless he maybe fights Bakole?

Itauma benefits from being at the old end of most of these guys. Chisora wouldve been good a few years ago too; Chisora is work for anybody. So the youngish guys to aim for eventually are Dubois and Parker.

Chisora old. Makmuhdov, tho I cant remember the age, is at the tail end of his run. Zhang is old. Juggernaut is cracked.

Maybe the us olympic hw? Havent seen him in a while, forgot his name now, but he needs to increase his challenges or risk becoming irrelevant, like right now. That might be a good match between two young guys.

One of the reasons Itauma is being hyped apart from hm being good on the eye test is that there really aren't that many young HWs coming through who look any good as of yet.

These fights are the right direction, but they shouldn`t look past Whyte.

Every elite sportsperson knows that it is a big mistake to look too far into the future past your current opponent. People who disregard this sage advice usually pay the price.
