Morrell didn’t get whooped and he wasn’t handed a gift. David won that fight, as far as I’m concerned. Cries of robbery were way overdone. Khataev gave an aggressive, competitive performance; but he legitimately lost. I’d love to see them run it back in a couple more bouts. I’m sure Imam feels as you do.

I will back Callum Smith to win on points over the distance. Skill for skill I think Smith is a better boxer, and David Morrell Junior does not have the power or skill 'To negate Smith in the same way Canelo Alvarez and Artur Beterbiev did'.

Note: Callum Smith I would rate is the most powerful puncher David Morrell Junior has ever fought 'I think it is clear now that Smith at 175 pounds, is more dangerous and powerful offensive fighter than David Benavidez. And technically as a boxer, he is also a marginally better boxer'.

Callum Smith is also coming into this fight, with a better win on his resume than all of David Morrell Junior's wins 'Beating Joshua Buatsi was a solid win, which has built back some serious momentum in his career'.

David Morrell Junior as a fighter, seems to be game and aggressive 'His best attributes in this match up are his durability, and aggression. A part from that? Skill for skill he is not the best fighter Callum Smith has fought win or lose'.

Whereas in comparison, Callum Smith may be the best fighter David Morrell Junior as ever fought 'Especially at 175 pounds. I don't think David Benavidez brings the same kind of intensity and destructive threat at 175 pounds, like he did in the 168 pound Super Middle Weight Divisions'.

To conclude: Overall this is a really solid top level fight 'Very competitive fight, because by no means is Callum Smith miles better than David Morrell Junior. But he is in my opinion, skill for skill a better and more proven fighter at top level in the sport' etc.

Good fight, for sure. Morrell isn’t looking for any easy outs. His last two bouts have been tough.

Utter delusion. Morrell won 3 rounds, maybe 4 if you super generous.

Believe what you want. Enough people think Khataev won. I happen to be in the apparent minority of fans. That doesn’t make me wrong. It’s interesting to note that voters on Boxrec thought Imam won, yet the “professional officials” (whatever that means, because it’s not the judges) had it 95-94 for Morrell. Whatever the case — whether you had it for one guy or the other — it wasn’t a robbery. I’ve seen many robberies in approximately 51 years of being a boxing fan. This wasn’t one of them.

You are incredibly biased. Morrell got the decision because he's the bigger name and for no other reason.

Sure, it would seem that way. Maybe I am; I try not to be. But the fact remains that Morrell got the nod from 2/3 judges. Officials get it wrong often enough — or at least they seem to — but it doesn’t mean they’re always incompetent or corrupt. If that were as widespread as the fans seem to think, there’d be no point in watching these fights. As I said, Boxrec had officials other than the ringside judges scoring it for Morrell. But I don’t need any of that to know the fight wasn’t a robbery. Khataev simply wasn’t as dominant as you obviously think. In fact, he wasn’t dominant at all. Neither fighter was. It was a good, competitive affair.
