Cool so the boxing scene writers started watching boxing 18 months ago.

f the storylines I’d delved into as I waded into boxing’s occasionally scintillating murk, Usyk’s two-fight series with Anthony Joshua intrigued me. Who was this Ukrainian with less muscle tone than the chiseled god across the ring from him, and how did he have better stamina despite that? I admired the bravery required to fight somebody that much bigger and more powerful, as well as the skill to beat him twice.

You didn't know who Usyk was before the Joshua fight and your job is writing about boxing?

You didn't happen to catch the 2012 Olympics? The World Boxing Super Series in which Usyk became the undisputed WBA/WBC/IBF/WBO/Ring/TBRB/lineal cruiserweight champion of the world?

For all the predictions I get wrong, I never really understood the lack of respect Usyk got coming into the HWs. His style was always about movement and activity. He forced opponents to work at his speed, his pace. It always revolved around breaking the man across the ring down with volume and mental fatigue. Was there always, and still is, the possibility that a true, natural HW connects a flush shot and Usyk does not fully recover until next Tuesday? Sure. But that so many just dismissed him coming up was just silly. I remember that after the Chisora fight, so many people were saying that because Usyk had uncomfortable moments and that Chisora was able to hit him, it proved how Usyk couldn't beat any of the top HWs. The fact Usyk won most of the rounds, owned the back half of the fight, and was never hurt was of no never mind. The fact that Chisora is a freaking Warrior with a capital "W" that has fought nearly everyone and deserved more respect also no never mind.

That Usyk was an underdog in the first Fury fight was fine, Fury is a giant. It is not hard to envision a few scenarios he would win. But I have picked Usyk in every fight he has ever been in because, you know, I watch boxing. Crazy how some people just dismissed him going into the Fury fight like Fury was a perfect boxing machine.

I will give Mr. Lewis this: At least he is owning what he felt. No revisionist history. I can respect that.

There's a lot of revisionist history, I remember the lead up to Fury vs Usyk 1 and a LOT of people were picking Usyk. Yes you had some picking fury as well but predictions were not one sided at all.

Tyson Fury had every opportunity to clean up his image by stepping in to help save his local football team Morecambe FC, but no so all respect has gone!
