    Usyk/Dubois 'Beltgate' REVISITED

A video of Usyk's exchange with a CLOWN from the Dubois camp (let's call him Bozo) over the low blow randomly popped up in my YouTube feed so I decided to watch it. Bozo got all up in Usyk's face and accused him of lying and faking the low blow despite Usyk telling him he was wrong and that it was only his OPINION.

Usyk then lifts his jumper and points to the exact spot where Dubois punch landed (1min 15 secs of video #1). I have to say that I believe Usyk was WRONG here as the actual punch from the freeze frame landed a little bit higher (41secs of video #2). However, it doesn't matter because according to the cutman from video #3, only punches which land halfway above the beltline and halfway below are considered 'acceptable' low blows whereas 90% of Dubois glove clearly lands below the belt. Therefore, it does NOT meet the 50-50 requirement of an acceptable low blow above.

I believe that settles the debate once and for all unless anybody can present any convincing evidence otherwise. I suppose there is a question mark around the height of Usyk's shorts but this would've been checked by the officials BEFORE the fight (just like gloves & handwraps) and he was cleared to fight.

I also don't believe it's in Usyk's nature to cheat as a role model and Christian plus he WASN'T troubled by any of Dubois other body punches (acceptable or not) during either fight.

If DDD quitting the first time didn't settle the debate, the rematch sure did.

        Pointless thread.

Not really...there's still plenty of Dubois fanboys clinging to the fact that he 'knocked' Usyk out in the first fight whereas the evidence above shows the complete opposite.

if u are an usyk fan u will say clearly a low blow, if u dont like usyk u will say not a low blow but a KO, if u are in the middle u might say looks like the shot landed low and the ref got it right most likely

Exactly...if you watch the fight from the beginning, BOTH fighter's belly buttons are covered by their shorts (2mins 37-40secs). Secondly, it's pretty obvious that neither fighter's wearing their trunks particularly high (8mins 41secs). Therefore, the only logical conclusion is that the beltline covers the belly button and since 90% of Dubois glove landed below it was a legitimate low blow.

However, I appreciate it's up to the discretion of the referee (just like stoppages) and in this instance the referee ruled in Usyk's favour.

Definitely a low blow, usyk then made him quit in hilarious fashion then battered him in the rematch. He's a level or 10 below the great Ukrainian, no shame in that but it's true, was like watching someone win a competition to be in the ring with a star. Totally out his depth.

Dubois then quit in the fight.
                  Pretty much this.

I'd be pissed if I was denied a KO like that
