If Margarito hit that hard to inflict that kind of damage he did in the first fight he would’ve had one punch KO power which he didn’t. Imagine the mental advantage you have knowing you just have to sustain the other fighters punches and eventually your plaster wrapped punches will break them down. Reminds me of how meldrick Taylor looked after the Chavez fight another guy I’d bet money that used plaster.Comment

It’s all speculation, it seemed to me margarrito was about to stop cotto in that rematch again… like I said, it was stopped but not because of cotto. If you feel otherwise cool, I saw what I saw… and it has nothing to do with what they went on to do after that. Speaking specifically about the rematch, cotto was about to get stopped again, is what it seemed and felt like. You’re lying to yourself if you saw it otherwise… oh and cotto was winning every round of the first one too! And what happened? Cmon bro, as a man and competitor, cotto should have demanded that third! Straight up! But he didn’t and only he knows why

I really only remember the rematch. Cotto was on fire in that thing. Margarito willed his body to fight, it just did not respond. Cotto was after him with extreme prejudice and the crowd was electric for him.
The narrative afterwards was "justice was done". If I was Margarito, I would have gone radio silent as well.Comment

It's quite obvious Margarito had been using those wraps for some time. I believe he had them in the Paul Williams fight as well, but it wasn't enough. Probably Cintron, too.
That's what happens when you're a cheat. You don't get the benefit of the doubt.Comment

Not your point exactly at all because you said the first fight and second fights were the same when they weren’t at all.
He looked uncomfortable as early as round 3 in the first one.Nothing like to the second one.
He didn’t look anywhere close to being stopped in the 2nd one unlike the first one where you could feel Cotto was struggling early despite winning the rounds. He was never in total control in the first fight unlike the second one where he was in total control for the vast majority of it.
Night and day difference.Comment
