Margacheato's reign at the top was 1 and done.
Not sure how he became a person of interest when it came to May.
Margacheato had to be the least impressive of all the boogeymen.

Plaster or not, Margarito's style was all wrong for Cotto and Cotto's choice of going about the fight was just as wrong. The punches landed whether his wraps were loaded or not and the constant pressure along with his ability to take Miguel's punches was a nightmare.

I believe the first fight would've ended in a Cotto loss but maybe not in such a brutal fashion. I liked Margarito's pressure and choice or punches but he ruined his entire career with the plaster scandal. When you're caught doing something like, even being busted using PEDs, causes your whole career to be up for question.

Who knows, though....even Shane admitted to using PEDs in a deposition but was still inducted into the HOF in 2020.

He was then destroyed by Mosley. A total destruction.

You bringing in Manny to a thread no one mentioned him because he is your idol.
But but but …. Manny beat Cotto at a catchweight of 145. That is a fact.

He then beats Margacheato at a catchweight of 150 for a vacant 154 Ibs title. Another fact.

Those are the fights you are celebrating. Dubious catchweights for dubious titles.
Why are you all writing a whole load of nothing back to me. I said proof. Not assumptions.

          Cotto had his number
Wasted too much energy trying to be cute.

Plaster wraps are not allowed for a reason, so it's way important and the sport thought so as well.
I don't recall if a roider ever did any level of damage to their opp.
Shane didn't inflict any harm to DLH.

So, not the same, at all. Even the first 6 rounds of the first fight to which Cotto won all 6 he was still uncomfortable in some of those rounds unlike the second fight where he didn’t start looking uncomfortable until the 8th.

The two fights were not the same, at all.
So he looked uncomfortable in the 8th… my point exactly

I see this thread triggered a bunch of losers bickering about a whole lot of nothing again.

Just remember, all you did at most was passively watch it all on a screen.

Officially, cotto won the rematch. What I saw was that cotto got saved in that rematch. As a man, Margarito got his chance taken away to stop cotto again, and I feel cotto knows that. If cotto and his fans want to act like that wasn’t the case, well… what can we say. It’s all on video anyway

Which is fair. Cotto was A side so it’s his choice

Not your point exactly at all because you said the first fight and second fights were the same when they weren’t at all.

He looked uncomfortable as early as round 3 in the first one.Nothing like to the second one.

He didn’t look anywhere close to being stopped in the 2nd one unlike the first one where you could feel Cotto was struggling early despite winning the rounds. He was never in total control in the first fight unlike the second one where he was in total control for the vast majority of it.

                    Night and day difference.

I haven't seen this kind of intense drama between two fighters since then. It was truly personal. The tv show where they sat and argued with eachother with Max Kellerman is also iconic.
