He also fought in a different division and cleaned it out.

You not being familiar with very good boxers outside of the big names Usyk defeated during his career means you should research it before forming an opinion in this thread.

A 10 second glance at Usyk’s resume it not enough to have a valid opinion.

    No need to discuss further.

he fought in a weak division. i just asked you who did he beat??? most notable names are AJ and fury. and rest are chumps. if this was any other fighter, yall would be giving him slack saying he hasnt fought anyone. yall like to pick and choose who to praise. GGG has fought way better opponents.

But you make a fair point.

Don’t leave out other part- GGG was beating up bums.
        Bums?

Gennady Golovkin defeated at least 7 fighters who were ranked by The Ring Magazine at the time of their bouts: Daniel Geale, David Lemieux, Grzegorz Proksa, Gabriel Rosado, Curtis Stevens, Ryōta Murata, and Daniel Jacobs. There might be more. And he should have been given the decsion over Canelo.

Yes they were ranked but they were not good and the division was extremely weak imo and the opinion of many others.

We agree he beat Canelo in 1 &2 and thus could fairly be ranked 1 or 2. I should have considered that.

That stated, Usyk cleaned out the divisions on his way to 2 undisputed championships. His crusier run is significantly better than GGGâs MW run.

His hwt run elevates him imo.

This post just confirms what I stated- you have no idea who Usyk has fought outside of the big names at hwt.

This makes it impossible to have a rational discussion with you on this topic.

I view the two men as mostly even on resumes. This is to say first time hall of fame enshrinees with the honor of leading vote receiver in their future HOF class.

A fighter can rate no higher. Both men are special fighters.

You can say Usyk is greater in a 2 division sense and GGG is greater in the amount of fights. I am very sure if he wanted to GGG could have moved up in class and won a belt there too.

I was a big GGG fan and I recognize him to be a worthy hall of famer. But I rank him a little behind Usyk. As far as resume goes, Usyk may struggle by lacking the depth and amount of fights, but based on in ring abilities I think Usyk will end up being around a top 35-30 all time range (maybe even higher). GGG will be closer to that 60-70 range- and thats not bad. A lot of people read that and see it as an insult, forgetting pro boxing as we know it now has been going on for over 130 years. There are a LOT of great fighters who GGG ranks higher than so please don't think thats a put down. Being in the same range as other middleweights as Freddie Steele and Mickey Walker is tremendous. That being written, I think Usyk has shown to be better.

Golovkin was beating bums. Worse, certain posters latched on to him for non boxing reasons.

Usyk has consistently fought the best challenger available during his unifying 2 divisions. He has literally cleaned out both during his ascension.

He deserves the upmost respect for that.
He was pretty fortunate he had the opportunity to fight in a literal tournament with the best fighters available. Guys like Usyk, Ward, Inoue are lucky they had the chance to compete in a format like that, instead of trying to fight guys that clearly didn't want to fight them. We could say Golovkin should've moved up and sought guys at 168 and yeah in hindsight he probably should have but there's no guarantee, at that time, with the hype he had around him, that he would've had a bunch of guys lining up to fight him.

i just said i checked his resume out before making that first comment so you can keep using that excuse "you have no idea who usyk has fought". unless he has a secret resume that is not posted online? i done peeped it out, AJ and fury, most notable names. the rest are B-C level.
