It was after he fought Vargas rematch.

Prior to the fight he announced he was taking a break win or lose

In the interview he reiterated he was taking a vacation and mentioned a loose tooth which is the only part that gets mentioned

You honestly believed he called Floyd out? If so, you give that credibility- calling out someone at a weight class below you?

Frankly, imo this is unbelievable. It doesn’t make sense that you call out Floyd while planning a move to Ww to fight the cash cow. Does that make sense to you?

Additionally, Merchant would’ve asked him that question differently if Shane had called Floyd out.
It is on tape on an old 1999 broadcast were Shane called Floyd out directly to make it happen since at the time Shane was still at 135. When the answer was "No" Shane went ahead and got after Oscar. Then all the big fights happened at 147-154 with Forrest, Shane, Vargas, Mayorga, Winky. After that it was Cotto, Margarito Pwill at WW. Floyd landed the past it Oscar fight and barely won and went into retirement and rode the coattails of Pacquiao who was outselling Floyd in PPV.

So why was Floyd/Shane on the cover of KO Mag calling for a showdown when they were prime lightweights

          Ok please show this.

There is no way Shane chose to fight a sfw Floyd over the cash cow.

Floyd has the top 4 selling PPV fights of all time. Manny wasn’t outselling him. Floyd was retired or out hurt.

They were never at LW at the same time.

They were on the mag because Floyd called him out. That is why Merchant asked him about Floyd.

Shane, post ODH, was a top 2 p4p boxer that could
make any fight he wanted. He made 3 easy bum fights after the toothache. The fought forest and lost.

LMfao. With Floyd you call an injury an excuse. With Shane you defend it.

Irrational hatred like this is just ridiculous.
