I listened to the entire podcast episode of him with Joe Rogan last week. He’s still a great voice and can paint a beautiful picture when he describes things, but there were more than a couple of instances where he described past fights or results and had them wrong. I can’t recall what they were, though. I’d have to sift through the episode to find the inaccuracies.

Thats funny. We need more guys like larry merchant who I know some didnt like but at least he called out the corruption in boxing

I didn't watch whatever he was commenting but if he didn't know who the undisputed heavyweight champ is fighting a week from now then this is just a job to him and he doesn't really give a **** about boxing

It's hard to give af about this era of boxing when you come from the era that Jim was commentating.

To be a little fair to Jim, he has been out of the commentating game for a while.

I'm sure the commentary setup and presentation has changed in the past decade so he is going to need to get back in the groove of things and used to being in the live atmosphere again.

What DAZN needs to do is just get rid of Chris Mannix all together. I have no clue how they decided he was the right man for the job. Mora is awful as well but he at least has a brain.

As much as the nostalgia side of me says it's nice to see him back, he was AWFUL on commentary.

Mora and Mannix are hilarious. Sometimes Mora will disagree with Mannix on something, explain why he disagrees and then in his closing statement will go and say the exact opposite of what he originally was against. Lmao

Jim will get his sea legs back I'm sure. At least the fighters came through this time and gave him some good fights to call, unlike Times Square.

I like Tarver but seemed like he was talking a lot, stepping all over the place, in the heat of things calling Lampley "bro" a couple of times lol.

Also Coppinger is pretty good, but I'd say maybe try to limit talking about outside events in boxing during any given fight, it can derail things and doesn't bring the fight we're watching in focus.
