  • Comments Thread For: Edgar Berlanga: Self-assured or overconfident vs. Hamzah Sheeraz?

Plenty have mentioned that Edgar Berlanga might not be as focused as he needs to be for Hamzah Sheeraz, who has looked bulletproof in the build-up.

He might not be the most hated in the sport right now but from most people i talk to he is the "most wanted " -- to get his face smashed in................

Both these guys froze in their biggest moment! We'll see who steps up tonight.

Such a difficult fight to call...on one hand I CAN'T see Sheeraz knocking Berlanga out if Canelo couldn't whereas I don't see Edgar winning on points (even at home) since Adames was robbed despite outboxing Sheeraz. Therefore, the biggest question mark for me is how Sheeraz handles Berlanga's POWER because although his chin has been solid so far, this is a new weight class and Edgar has an 80% KO ratio.

Assuming no knockouts, I predict Sheeraz will win on points as he's Turki's Riyadh ambassador and it wouldn't be in their interest for him to lose (just like Mayweather & Canelo were protected in Vegas).

Berlanga wasn't very 'gritty' against Canelo, but fair play, he did survive the distance in that fight.

Sheeran could win this one, although I don't see him as a guy who could ever beat Canelo. If there's some other champions, perhaps he could win a title there as he does have some good tools.

Not a fan of Berlanga, but Berlanga KO's Sheeraz.

This is what I'm afraid of...Sheeraz is taking a massive RISK facing him in his first fight at Super Middleweight with a new trainer. Especially after the disappointing performance against Adames. He's assuming that the additional weight is going to boost his KO power but what about his chin's ability to absorb extra power? Having said that, Berlanga HAS been dropped several times before (including as an amateur) which is why this is such an intriguing fight.

I haven't seen a whole lot of Sheeraz but I know Berlanga isn't that good. While I don't doubt he has power, his KO percentage was inflated against limited competition early in his career.

He struggled with Coceres and Roll, he couldn't stop Quigley and was handfed McCrory and Gonzalez so he could rediscover his power.

Sherraz isn't as good as people are led to believe. I think it he wins it will be controversial

Sheeraz has been rocked many times by awful opposition, the problem is we have two awful boxers going at it tonight.
I don't know who to pick because they are both so so and I can't see a winner unless Berlanga comes in quite heavy and lands first going all for broke. Otherwise, he gets picked apart little by little.
