Comments Thread For: De La Hoya-Mosley, 25 years later: ?Like something out of a movie?

De La Hoya-Mosley featured Southern California's two best fighters at the time, both in the top five of the pound-for-pound list, and lived up to its potential.

I remember watching this fight as an elementary schooler. How time flies. This was a fun read. Thank you Mr. Raskin.

Worst part is Mosley got a gift in the second fight. Not only that he got caught with steroids.

This win always be tainted by Mosley's steroid use, and Raskin should have mentioned that.

I remember making money on that fight , my bookie friend had no idea who Mosley was but I'd been watching him for years and Mosley was an absolute beast . He had it all. People who knew boxing bet on Shane , everyone else bet DLH.

My favorite Sugar Shane fight was also when he beat that sorry ass Margacheato. It was the purest clean pleasure.

Probably would have mentioned it if he were talking about the rematch which was when Mosley used the steroids. Not this fight.

You are right in a way. But that also puts a question mark on his career, sadly.

Mosley had it all in my opinion. I liked the father and son team and thought they were good humble people. Some of today's father and son teams could learn a lot from them...

Man, people can forget what a rock star- and warrior- De La Hoya was because of disliking him now. But he was huge at this time. I knew of Mosley, but I did not follow boxing as close so I was jaw dropping surprised by the Mosley win. I truly felt no one moving up in divisions would be able to outwork De La Hoya. What a great win for Mosley.
