Record vs world title winning opposition:
W vs Jose Sanabria UD 12
W vs Tracy Harris Peterson UD 12 (reigning titlist)
W vs Tracy Harris Peterson UD 12
W vs Calvin Grove RTD 7
W vs Gabriel Ruelas TKO 5
W vs Joey Gamache KO 2
L vs Oscar De La Hoya TKO 5
W vs Terron Millet TKO 4
W vs Leonard Doroftei KO 2
W vs Jesse James Leija KO 5
L vs Floyd Mayweather RTD 7
L vs Carlos Baldomir TKO 9

Sanabria, Grove, Gamache, and Leija were way past it but he has some good names on his resume regardless and the Ward trilogy was legendary. I don't care that Ward was a fringe contender, those were incredible fights and I'll watch them anytime they're on TV.

He's a fringe case for the HOF, I wouldn't be mad if he didn't get in. But I'm not mad that they let him in either. There are worse guys in there and there will be more.
Are you serious? Are you really serious? Come on now.

You do know there is a place in EVERY HOF for those who contributed to the sport without having to actually participate in it, yes ?!?!?

I wonder if Jim Lampley or Larry Merchant ever laced them up....

Yeah he'll definitely be in the HoF one day for daring to fight the best (and getting WHOOPED) and getting a lucky decision win over Teo!

Omg. You are comparing Jim Lampley and Larry famous boxing commentators to a fictional movie character ? So is Air Bud in the NBA hall of fame ? Jerry McGuire, Friday Night Lights , Varsity Blues, Remember the titans and Blue Mountain state in the football hall of fame ? Are those fictional characters in there? Rick “Wild Thing” Vaughn, Steve Nebraska, Pedro Cerrano or Willie Mays Hayes in the MLB hall of fame? Lmaooooo

Is coach Bombay in the NHL hall of fame ? lol.

You're right about him lighting up Atlantic City. I don't have an issue with him being in the HoF one way or the other but he accomplished quite a bit and energized the sport regardless of talent or resume. HBO chose to air his fights on the regular forms reason....
I definitely agree with all you said
                  Gatti is deserving
