This is unclear from the article.
If paul-Tyson wasn't ppv then neither is this fight

So this is big enough to pay the extra coin to shift a football game out of the Raiders stadium? Geez.

And Netflix is about the only subscription service I do not have.......

Jesus. I hope to God Netflix has figured out how to host a live event. The Tyson-Paul debacle froze and cut out for half the fight, it was basically unwatchable.

An additional ppv charge wasn’t included in the article because there’s still moving parts to finalize. Of course there’s going to be a price tag for this event. Which I wouldn’t mind. I’ll re-sub but I’m still holding out hope that it’ll be made available to all subscribers at no additional fee. After all it’s Netflix and more importantly, Money-grubbling Eddie won’t have his greasy fingers all over this.
I’ll add that if big boxing events were available to the general viewers, We(US) would get more Olympic gold. Kids aren’t growing up watching boxing anymore.

Also, piracy or non super fights isn't the cause of declining ppv sales--expensive prices and especially when the product produces boring events like Shakur Sleepytime--is the cause.
Well, piracy is responsible for some loss of ppv sales. The argument comes that the kind of people who pirate-view anything wouldn't be able to afford a ppv but that's a lazy argument that can't be proven.
Most statistical distributions fit a bell shaped curve and likely this is no different. If you have ppv sales on the y axis and price points on the x axis you'd see that sales are being lost.
Mind you, each fight would have a different shaped distribution curve. In that sense there's definitely less people prepared to pay good money for a Shakur fight than a Tank fight - at least until possibly a few years time Shakur is still unbeaten and every fan tunes in to see him lose - proven market winner

Another bad idea from Turki – this is likely more a fight for boxing fans, it could turn out to be another stinker. For Netflix, they'd be better off doing Fury/AJ. Two giants which would have drama and likely a knockout.

It's just going to turn more people away from boxing if it's a lack lustre fight.

You clearly don’t know anything about boxing. AJ Fury is only huge in England. American fans aren’t excited about that unless you’re a hardcore boxing head. Worldwide people aren’t excited about it either.

It's not really about the popularity, it's about two giants going at each other for a knockout. Your average person won't know much about any active boxers – they're not going to understand the level that Crawford / Canelo are at, and if it becomes a jab and move "chess match" then it'll only hurt chances of further big events.
