Context of the Era: It's important to consider the context of the era in which Namath played. The game was different, with a greater emphasis on the running game and less focus on passing statistics. Some argue that his Adjusted Net Yards per Attempt (ANYA) was actually above average for his time.

I was telling this to another poster. It was a defense and running league in those days. Its basically two different games. Pre 90s NFL and Post 00s football. Its night and day. Even the 80s It was different.

I agree with everything you found on Google.
A skilled bunter and ONE time "MVP".......
NYC swagger and ONE SB win.....

    LAME reasons for enshrinement

For the most part, search engines are impartial (can't trust it for political issues)

Not sure who has the weaker resume of the 2.......
      Neither should be in.
They didn't put Vernon Forrest in the hall of fame and he was also murdered and Vernon was way better then both of them.

        Gatti's following >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> >>>>>>> Vern's
        Not even remotely close.
        Broner's resume >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Gatti's
Broner will never see the inside of the HOF unless he has a ticket

So its official, you clearly said it. Boxing hall of fame is a popularity contest. The NBA, NFL and MLB are not popularity contest. Michael Vick, Steve McNair, Stephon Murbury, Shawn Kemp, Pete Rose, Barry Bonds, Sammy Sosa, Mark McGwire and etc will never make it to their league hall of fame. All of them had big fan base and records. The only difference is these hall of fame have morals and integrity. Boxing let's in Many ppl with drug bust and lackluster career but Vinny, Gatti, Mancini all put butts in seats. It's all about money. This isnt a legit hall of fame. It should be an International Boxing History and Achievement museum. Now that sounds better.

Did I not point out Broadway Joe being one of the more overrated NFL HOFer ?!?!?
            Ditto Mr Holy Cow ?!?!?
            I don't watch NBA

Please explain to me why you think every boxer in the HOF deserves to be there

I wouldnt say Joe is overrated. His achievements didn't stand the test of time. I think that would be more fair to say if we are being honest but you can stay that too about Drew Pearson and Bob Hayes but you wouldn't.

Thats not my call. Its not my hall of fame. I am just a fan. I dont have voters rights. I am giving my opinion. Nobody is going to pay me to go through the boxing hall of fame list to cross reference who should be removed. Stop that. Would I? If I got paid? Sure.

Shot. If I had a say. Gatti and Vinny wouldnt be in also Broner nor Wilder. I am on the Fence with AJ.

Leave the big decisions to those who know the sport, I'd say.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. As long as they are not lying or twisting the truth to fit a narrative. I wouldnt engage once ppl do that. We are here to have fun and discuss. Nothing major. I got boom boom mancini on my wall with his hall of fame name plate. Not going to lie. I wouldn't mind having Gatti on my wall but his memorabilia is rare and expensive.
