Floyd used golden boy and then al hamon. Al hamon was a promoter in practice though for legal reasons didnt call himself that.

His fights also sold PPV and turned a profit, so he was able to make demands and promoters complied because they were still getting their cut too.

A lot of these guys are just money losses. Turki is not helping he is losing money on crawford and a lot of other fights. look at that dumpster of a ticket with garcia and haney in NYC, they had basically no gate do you think they made any money from PPV on that with what they pay the fighters now?

Long term it has to be financially sustainable. Some day Turki may lose interest and turn his attention back to golf and then what, normal promters have to be profitable to remain in business. Everyone wants a floyd payday but doesnt sell the PPV he used to

Money May didn't need any promoter.

        Pretty Boy did.

Every boxer does not start off as Money May.
        Not even Floyd.

These foreign en****** are truly ruining boxing. No one I know asks me about boxing anymore because no one has access to it. I hope some day we can go back to PBC, Top Rank, and Golden Boy being the only American en******. British and European promotions for the UK and Europe and they can work with Turki if they want but American boxing sound be better off if all Americans returned to American promotions

Turki is not the ruler of Saudi Arabia. Did you not know that? How exactly is he a dictator.
Turki has made the big fights possible. Our beloved promoters steal from their fighters all the time. Don King is a convicted felon. Are you saying Bob Arum is not arrogant and pompous?

How come 99% of fighters are going to Turki and Saudi Arabia (one of the greatest countries in the world and one of our closest allies)?
Do you not want AMERICANS to get paid accordingly? Do you want them to continue getting shafted by the likes of Bob Arum, PBC and Oscar?

I certainly hope Turki signs ALL the top BOXERS to his stable. It’s great for boxers and boxing.

Saudi Arabia, is dangerous to us 9/11. They do not like americans only american money and they really, really disrespects all women!
But our US President is convicted of multiple felonies. not just one, two, or three. Go figure?

I don't get the Turki hate. All he wants to do is make big fights. Sure he could learn a thing or two about matchmaking. Most of the events Turki has sponsored turned out great. It wasn't until he started featuring U.S. fighters that he's had some real stinkers (Shakur, Garcia, Haney, etc.)

Is he a shady character? Maybe he is, but that's nothing new for boxing. The sport has always dealt with shady characters. During its golden years it was run by organized crime. Hall of Fame promoter Don King killed a guy.

The one problem I have with how Turki is running things is that I feel he is overpaying fighters that are simply not worth the money. Neither in terms of market value or even entertainment value. He could spend a fraction of the cost dealing with the Haney's, Garcia's, and the Lopez's of the world and pay fighters that make good fights in the ring like Emmanuel Navarette, Abdullah Mason, Rafael Espinoza, etc.

He could set up a unification at featherweight and all of those fights would be amazing. And it wouldn't cost what he paid for one Ryan Garcia fight.
