Yeah people use words like that way too lightly around here.
But anyway, this was sort of like a Rosado v Melkuziev. Except Wardley is prob a bit higher than Rosado, and Mel has more power for size than Huni. And it was a longer fight.
But mainly, Huni opened up a little too much when trying to finish off his opponent. And it cost him. And his own force of coming forward only multiplied the power that Wardley clearly has anyway.Comment

Wilder beat the best the WBC could throw at him for years. He was a far more active titleholder than Fury, and Joshua, constantly losing to replacements and underdogs like Ruiz, Usyk and Dubois, while in his prime; is a full level below. Stop being a racist.Comment

You’re right he doesn’t suck at all. It’s impressive how well he’s done considering his complete lack of amateur experience.
I was exaggerating to make a point. He’s not the most skilled but always dangerous due to his insane power.Comment

Because we are fans and we react to what we see. When it can be argued that a boxer may have lost every round but pulled out a late, basically one punch win we are impressed but realistic. Look, I love boxing. Like other combat sports, it is never over until that last bell rings. We love dramatic wins, fighters that dig deep, those come from behind KO's. It is obvious Wardley has power and, more importantly, heart. But if he was just looking for one punch to land, that is a recipe for way more losses than wins against true contenders. People are comparing him to Wilder, I see him more as Joe Joyce. Wilder was so unconventional, so awkward, and so freaking athletic that even though he had near zero true fundamentals, he was also hard to truly hit flush as he was so all over the place. Wardley is more like Joyce- there in front of his opponent. He has developed poor defensive skills. At HW, that is begging to have a short career.I have some beef with this comment section. First, that was a Hail Mary shot? I thought it was great timing. Second, why dog on a dude when he came up with the win? Nobody has been touting him as the messiah and that is generally when the real dogging takes place (Canelo's last fight, Bud's last fight, etc). We cannot tell definitively what body language is saying and there is a chance he was looking for that specific shot. I don't imagine that to be the case, but it could have been.Comment

Taat win was a peak of Wardley's career. Throwing a big punch from nowhere when you are losing ti Huni about 1-8 in rounds and you are almost quitting..you can't go higher than that believe me.Comment
