What if Pacquiao-Mayweather had actually happened around 2009?

People keep debating about Pac turning down the drug test, but if the fight had happened back then would it have been the same result or completely different fight?

Assuming they just agreed to standard drug testing procedures.

It's hard to say for sure but by the time the fight happened Pacquiao had lost the insane speed and power that made him a special fighter from the oscar-cotto fights.

Floyd had lost half a step physically but he didn't rely on physical attributes to anywhere near the extent manny did.

Basically Manny has a much better chance of victory in 2009, which Floyd knew.

Oh that’s an easy one. Pac would have easily won hands down. We may have gotten that fight anyhow without any random drug testing .

However, Team Pacquiao’s stipulation that May would be fined 2 million dollars for every pound that he came over the weight was both a deal breaker and a game changer.

That’s when Team Mayweather countered by implementing the Olympic style random drug testing protocol. Which delayed the fight by some six odd years.

there's a reason why it didnt happen.

"I knew eventually it would happen, but everything takes time," said Mayweather, who first entered into talks to fight Pacquiao in late 2009 for what was supposed to be an early 2010 bout. "Everything in life is about timing. I have a good team and I waited until the time was right

Marquez is your answer. Pac had a hard time vs Marquez and Floyd was a bigger and much better version of the counterpunching/defense style. I don't know how many here forgot the many excuses TR and Pac had in not taking the fight.

Floyd apparently who is older than Pac was waiting for him to get old. Can't make this up.

Floyd was too scared of being stopped in 2009 that's why the fight didn't happen.

Pointed the finger at Manny being on peds as a deflection and excuse to duck
