It's as if everything will go smoothly without anything happening as time passes.
There's long-term injuries that might happen, brush with the law, family issues,
fake mental issues, you name it.
True. Something DID happen. Plant lost and the "big fight" is gone. The marinating went kaput.

I've been watching boxing for 35+ years and I can't remember a time where the so called top boxers in the sport are losing these many "tune up" fights.

In all seriousness, I do like the marketing strategy of younger or lesser known fighters who will fight each other to co-headline an event before their fight. There really is no better way to build hype as long as they both look good in their tune up fights, but for the already established fighters and champions I do agree that it's not really necessary, they can sell the fight on their names alone.

Are you talking about Moses Itauma and Adam Azim? If so, BOTH are special and the future of British boxing and the sport in general in my opinion.

As for his chin, Itauma is a Heavyweight so get's a hard pass as it's the only division where one punch really can end a fight. Anyhow, we won't know until he faces a REAL puncher but so far so good.

I can tell MOSES is world class. talent pool isn't as rich at heavyweight

Adam could be a euro level athlete in disguise

          Adam needs further testing

I agree. The added value is very minimal. Not worth the risk.

Especially fights like Charlo v Plant. Neither have a mainstream/crossover following anyway and never will, their fight would only appeal to captured audience of people who follow boxing closely, so it really makes no difference whether the fight is now in 6 months time but now that captured audience will be less interested

Delaying these fights either makes no difference or it gets ruined.

Exactly my line of thinking. There’s just no value in delaying certain fights.

Azim is every bit as good as Itauma...you're sleeping on his talent. The kid is just 22yo but already DOMINATING former world champions like Lipinets & world title contenders like Davies. Rumour has it that he's going to face Prograis this summer in his 'coming out' fight.

I don’t think Prograis is interested. Said he’d rather retire than come to the UK as an opponent. Money talks though.

I’ve also heard Claggett and Commey mentioned which I’m not too interested in.

Thanks for the update...apparently he's going to be fighting this weekend in Barnsley against some random Mexican dude in a stay busy fight. However, I still expect him to land a big fight later this year (against Prograis or somebody else) possibly on a card in Saudi to get some international exposure.

Yeah weird one that. Former Harlem Eubank opponent this Chavez, I think he hurt Eubank but got DQ’d for hitting on the break or something like that.

I think Boxxer might be without a broadcaster in the near future, hence why they’re getting Azim a run out. Other than that, can’t see the point in this matchup.
