Ahmet Oner is not someone i would sign with if I was a boxer. I remember Odlanier Solis vs Vitali Klitschko for the WBC title & Solis went down hurting his knee & Vitali so mad because he thought he laid down but he blew out his knee (out of shape).

He had 2 fights with Tony Thompson & lost both. The second fight was in Turkey. That event was crazy as Oner had Full Patch Hells Angels as security & there were a lot of them. Late in the fight Solis looked as though he was going to quit. Oner was furious & was yelling at Solis. if I remember correctly even went into his corner losing his mind. I thought to myself is Solis going to get out of Turkey alive? It was that intense if my memory is correct.

Solis was a good solid Cuban fighter but he had no heart really and went it got tough in there he always wanted out.

Very technicaly accomplished. I really liked watching him. Unfortunately he was his biggest opponent.

This once prestigious title seems to have fallen into disrepair over the last few years & the likes of Carpentier, Schmeling, Johanneson, Cooper & Mildenberger etc must be turning in their graves. What with the World title being tied up for the next year to eighteen months where's the names such as Kabayel, Wardley, Hrgoivic, Riakporthe, Vianello, Itauma & Hughie Fury? Yes they may think it's a backward step in this day & age of multiple continental, inter-continental, international, gold & silver trinkets, but there's still good contests to be made. I never thought I'd say it but we could well do with Turki al sheik getting involved!!.....
